Did holy water burn your skin, by any chance? Just curious.

Closing your eyes/sleeping also helps.

These are the things that will get me car sick:
Sitting in the back seat Tree-lined roads where you can't see for long distances Curvy roads (windy roads in Arkansas get me almost every time) heat If I'm driving or sleeping, I'm fine. My car sickness as a kid went away completely when we bought an SUV with big windows I could see out of and moved from Arkansas to the California desert. Since the kids are too young to sit up front and you live in Arkansas I'd say the only option is to avoid curvy, tree-lined roads and drive slowly so you don't whip them around if you have to take roads like that. Dramamine helps, and you could try anti-nausea drops too. |

Haven't read all the posts... but aside from the already-mentioned "look ahead" solution, I always found that fresh air helped me. Crack a window. And absolutely no reading or anything like that. I can still get sick in just a few seconds of that.

Once started to get car sick on a trip as a kid.
Dad told me to focus on some tree or hill in the farthest distance I could find. (essentially focus on something that's not bouncing) Worked like a charm. |

Maybe a auto DVD player? My daughter would get car sickness but the DVD with a good show distracts her and works like a charm.

I've always suffered from motion sickness.
http://www.amazon.com/Natures-Way-Gi.../dp/B00014EECK These things flat out work, and don't make you drowsy. I still feel a little dizzy at times but I don't get sick at all.
