Retail cards

People that work in Retail, I've got a message for you.

NO, I don't want to sign up for the (Target, Kohls, Cabelas, Bass Pro, etc. etc.) card and save 10% on my purchase today.

I've been on this earth for 46 ****in years. If I wanted to create a store charge card, I'd ask for one. But I don't.

You ****ers ask me every time I come to the checkout. It makes me not want to shop there.

Stop. Next time I'm in a retail store and some ****face asks me if I want to save 10% today by signing up for the stores charge card, I'm gonna ****ing go off.

Why am I pissed? Because I went to two stores today for boxers, shoes, and socks (Target and Kohls), and both asked me the same ****ing thing.

You can get both. The debit card one and a regular store credit card.

Coming from someone who works in retail, I say "**** you". Our employees are required to ask you to sign up for rewards cards and credit cards - or they face termination. Most of us are college students who need jobs like these to pay bills. Do you think people like begging others for credit cards and rewards cards? Do you think we honestly give a shit about these things? We do it just to keep our employment status.
Also, from the retail point of view -- the average consumer is a giant piece of shit. They make messes which they have no intention of cleaning up. They leave their trash inside the building for us to clean up. They treat us like shit and argue with us anytime they have a chance. They destroy fixtures, have zero regards for closing time (hey assholes, we'd like to go home to see our families at some point), and in general, are just giant pieces of shit. To the average consumer, **** you.

Regards,
Any employee in retail

I agree. My kid and I tear the shit out of stores when we go in there. It's a lot of fun.

This.

They're required to ask you. It's their job. Pretty stupid to complain about someone doing what they're paid to do.

You think those kids behind the counter WANT to ask you sign up. If they had it their way, they probably wouldn't even give you fake smile and hello.

Get it all out, that's fine.

I agree. Consumers are pieces of shit, no doubt about it. I use to manage a movie theater when i was younger.....good god....made me REALLY hate people for awhile....especially older women, they were the worst.

Amazon Prime is uber-cool!

With Amazon, I'm still able to avoid sales tax, too. Nearly anything you could purchase at a brick and mortar is available at Amazon tax-free with free 2 day shipping...and the Prime Videos are indeed a nice bonus.

In particular, Amazon's textbook department has saved my wife and I hundreds and hundreds of dollars since she's gone back to school to work on her M.S.N. Her school's bookstore was selling a used anatomy book for $179. She bought a gently used one from Amazon for $6(!).

You should totally SCREAM at the teenager who is being forced to ask you because it's her job and her commission is based on it. I'm sure that will change the stores policy.

As annoying as it is, they are just doing what they are required to do by the company. But I do agree, when I say no I wish they would leave it at that rather than verify I really meant to say no.

My wife on the other hand, can't say no because she just hears the "savings" part of it. Drives me nuts. I would rather have some more airlines points on my Visa than that 10% off of our $45 purchase.

You can gripe in a variety of places, but none of it is going to make any difference. Store loyalty cards make them way too much money for them to ever stop pushing them.
