ESPN 2K5 was far superior to anything Madden put out up to that point. Kicked Maddens ass in sales so much that Madden put a cock block on the game rights and exclusive Official NFL names. This made it a monopoly for the Madden industry and thus eliminating competition so the games have suffered for it.

ESPN 2K5 had first person playing as if you were inside the helmet. I haven't seen anything like it sense. Also you had a players pad that you can achieve trophies and play other games as you pimp out your place.

**** Madden but that's what we got to get if you want to play NFL football.

I never played 2k5 so I guess I just don't know any better.

I mean, Madden definitely has issues as most games do; but I still find them enjoyable year in and year out. I think its because the areas that most people feel they're lacking are things that I don't give a **** about. On this site, people seem to bitch about stuff like fantasy drafts and owner mode limitations. I have yet to play a franchise past the second year because its boring as shit playing against the computer.

I want an opponent that can strategize and think on the fly, not just truck through all of my LBs or burn my 95 speed CB with an 89 speed WR just because they control the game. Of course, playing against real people brings you a whole host of new problems- namely glitching and overuse of certain money plays- but its to be expected.

That's unfortunate. It really is the gold standard for football games in my mind. I played the motherloving shit out of it on XBox though; so I may have some sentimental attachments there as well.

I don't mind the Madden series. It is what it is. Same game every year, different names. Shit, I bought the most recent COD and it's the exact same thing. I'm no game snob.

ha.. there will be a day 1 patch for this... apparently a invisible player glitch (same glitch was in Madden 2012).
Totally unacceptable that these bugs are slipping through continuously... but it is EA.
EA Games! It's in the patch!

Dudes you missed out. Hell they had celebrity challenges and you go up against celebs like Steve O and Carmen Electra and others. It didn't even act like playing against the machine they would talk trash and kick onside kicks. They were never as predictable. "Close only counts in horseshoes and hand grenades"

Every person who buys Madden contributes to video games getting worse. You are subsidizing evil.

Awesome. I preordered yesterday for the Sunday Ticket deal. I'm another who hasn't played Madden in years, and probably would have ignored it if it wasn't for the Ticket deal. I d/l'ed the demo and was pleasantly surprised (barring having to listen to Jim Nantz.).

We'll just toss this on the pile with my weed purchases co-opting terrorism. More kindling under the real fire of my first-class ticket to hell.

I think I have 30 bucks in credit s at GameStop; also a $50 gift card that I'll most likely use on either GTA V, or Watchdogs.

Hmmm.
I should probably finish The Last of Us First.
