Andy Reid brings detail to Kansas City
Nice little article about Reid's "live" practices.

But there's a risk inherent there. I guess in the end I'd rather try to find the next great coach, rather than hoping we can get one who used to be great back there again. Sort of how I'd like to groom our own quarterback... But for years people have been talking about getting Gruden or Cowher out of the studio and onto the sidelines, and that's just not what I want to do. I see going with Reid as a similar kind of deal. Which isn't to say it can't or won't work... |

With the kind of year the Chiefs just had, I don't think it's hot assistant time or college to NFL time. I really think it was time for a proven very well respected coach to get the Chiefs out of being a laughing stock. |

It was basically unanimous that the site loved the hire. The only one I remember as being against it was milkman. |

I've been pretty consistent on this since January, but I don't make a huge issue out of it.
And part of the reason I didn't want him here was that I thought he'd bring in Alex Smith. Which was of course the very first thing he did. And as I've said, not liking him doesn't mean I'm saying it can't or won't work. It's just not the direction I ever wanted the team to go. But, he's who we have, so I hope he turns this place into what he had in philly 10 years ago. |

I like to think that Reid wasn't a lazy hire by Hunt, and that he's not just a Norv Turner or Marty Schottenheimer, but I don't have much to point to him being an exception. I do like the fact that his last two terrible years with the Eagles had him doing far less coaching than at the beginning of his career. It makes me think this change of duties with the Chiefs is what we need to get the winning Andy Reid back. |

I'd like to know what direction Cowher would have gone at QB.
