The much needed wake-the-****-up slap.

Nobody had @Denver as being a win anyway. It doesn't make the Chiefs any less good for losing @Denver than it does when Denver drops one in KC. Denver and KC are tough places for road reams to play.

With the loss, the Chiefs go to 9-1. However, now it is glaringly obvious just how bad the offense needs improvement, and work, in ALL areas. Playcalling, execution, and decisionmaking.

Andy Reid no longer has the "W" to brush off any criticisms about the offensive performance. This offense is quite honestly, a dumpster fire. When 80% of your passes don't go further than 10 yards past the line of scrimmage, that's a fundamental ****ing problem through either scheme, or lack of ability, or both. No offense that has its sights set on a championship runs such a conservative, low production passing attack.

There were shots downfield in this game, yeah. However, they were the first time all season such consistent shots were taken and clearly it is not something that this Chiefs offense is comfortable with, or particularly good at.

This defense is for real. They held an offense that averages 42 points per game to 27, and gave our offense PLENTY of chances to get the lead in this game, including multiple 3 and outs against Manning and also securing a turnover inside the Denver 20 yard line down by only 3 points.

The offense is the weak link. The conservative bullshit has got to go. Its nice to never turn the football over, but it is NOT nice to never score any points. Alex needs to turn it loose, and if he cant produce, move aside.

No risk, no reward. You need look no further than Alex Smith's passing stats, TD/INT in particular to see that.

Reid needs to take a long look in the mirror as a playcaller. He has not done a good job at all this season. Brad Childress has had great success in calling offense in his career in his time with Minnesota, and Doug Pederson is a former Quarterback. Perhaps it is time to give one of these guys a shot and see if the offense doesn't produce a little more, as they would be hard pressed to do worse with an offense that struggles to put up 17 points.

This was as good a time as any for this reality check to happen. How Andy Reid and Alex Smith respond to this will define what this team will ultimately be this season.

You are the one who said we needed the defense to score.

And again, we kept Manning to his lowest point output all ****ing year. How ****ing reeruned can you be to blame this loss on the defense?

The defense gave the offense the ball inside the Denver 20 early in the game.....

That resulted in a fumble, which resulted in a Denver TD soon after.

The offense could be much more helpful to this defense.

You wonder where the pass rush went? The legs of the pass rush are tired.

no pressure contributed to 27 points...poor offensive execution produced only 17 points.

who gives a shit, were the number one defesne,27 points is not a success. But the fact is they did give our offense enough chances to where if they could have scored from the 5 its a one score game at the end.

all I need our offense to do is put about 20 points a game for the rest of the season. how many other teams can score 27 points on us?if you think a bunch of teams can, well this team defense isn't as good as we have all thought.

offense has to perform like this against 99% of the rest of the teams in this league for us to keep winning. Because our d will play better than we ddid tonight against 99% of the league. One team in the league who might be one of the greatest offenses of all time gives us problems and chiefs fans are crying their eyes out. its one ****ing team, and just to add, their qb has often proved hes not the same guy in the playoffs.

Im still thinking superbowl if our offense is finally about to open it up

Sadly, probably this.

This defense can only carry such a dog shit offense so far.

The game plan was questionable, but it did hold them to 17 points for most of the game.

We have huge needs for weapons in the passing game and for 3 new starters on the interior offensive line. We are doing what we can via play calling to help them out, but blocking in both phases of the offense is abysmal.

It is what it is. We went from 2-14 to a playoff team in one season, but there just isnt enough time to change over all the personnel in one offseason.

I think all this game tells us is that the rebuild is ahead of schedule, but we still have way too many holes on the offensive side of the ball.

It was a designed defensive game plan. Considering Manning was throwing the ball in 2 or 3 seconds every play, we would have been ****ed if we blitzed like crazy. The defense played well. The offense did not. End of story.

I think we'd feel better if our receivers didn't have hands like feet. Deprived us of one TD for certain when Charles dropped the screen - the Avery one early on too, who knows if we'd have gotten points on that drive as well. Dont blame Sherman as much, but those were three or 7 points for sure, given the field position.

Ifs and buts

....both could've have played better.... Houston Hali and DJ were sparse tonight.

stop telling me when your defense only holds a team to 27 points, you should win.

Sherman fumble was HUGE.
