How often do you eat a home-cooked meal?

With all the food posts lately, I'm wondering how often you eat a meal that's made at home. Frozen pizzas, etc. don't count. I'm talking about a meal that takes some thought and time to make. Oh, breakfast is unique because cereal, toast, etc. are easy, so it's not a deal breaker. It's better than donuts, though.

I'd make a poll, but the options are overwhelming.

We'll figure 21 meals per week (you get the math I'm sure).

I literally go out to eat every single meal.
Meatballs
pasta and sauce
salads
sandwiches (real ones like turkey/bacon/guacamole seared in a pan)
casseroles

All of the above can be made in less than 45 minutes, with very few ingredients, and basic kitchen tools.

I generally don't eat breakfast or lunch except on weekends. We typically eat out about once a week. So I guess my answer is 10

Touche my friend. Any man who trolls slow pitch softball leagues is cool in my book. No sarcasm intended.

I only have black coffee for breakfast when I am at home, whether working online or on computer or not working. So it's only 14 meals a week for me.

When I am at a trade show I get a breakfast sandwich at Starbucks with a black coffee; toss out the bread and eat the filling. So I need more because I am moving around a lot including on my feet. So that's usually three days out of a week right there. During the busy season I could do that 2-3x a month. So hard to average out.

Lunch and dinner, maybe one meal out a week with remaining meals at home. These are not always a typical meal though.

When kid was around, it was more like 5 days a week. I always made her lunch and I considered everyone eating dinner at the same time a social custom where the family was together at one time.

It used to be the reverse for me tho' where I ate out more. Lunch out 3-4 times a week and same with dinner.

I'm not a big eater—tho' I like to cook. I enjoy pleasing others with a good meal.

The numbers vary, but I generally go out for a meal 1-3 times a week. Since my work is usually from home, that makes it easy. We like to make either Friday or Saturday a dining night out.

Consider getting a slow cooker. Toss meat and veggies in and it cooks all day; ready when you get home.

Don't get one with an aluminum pan inside though.

Cook mostly at home, but it's usually assembling like rice and Indian pouches [ie boil in bag]. Or boxed spaghetti and jar sauce.

I probably make more salad from scratch than cooked meals.

Also make a lot of use of sauces and condiments, barbecue, curry, jerk, mojito.

Also for weight loss, I'll eat a LOT of popcorn topped with Tabasco.

Not often enough.

And I second popcorn with tabasco... Too bad I can't have popcorn for fear of shredding what's left of my gumline.
