This year it worked out to a Thursday/Friday/Saturday rotation. So one day, one place, one meal works out fine. |

yeah, at one point up until probably 2years ago, on Thanksgiving day we had 3 different places to goto on the same day. that sucks.

Oh, the best part of my Thanksgiving is ****ing with my brother. My grandma will get to work cutting up the pie and wanting to serve it no more than ten minutes after we've finished the meal.
Nobody wants pie right then. Not a single person. But I'll grab a piece to make her happy, and make her stop asking. And then I'll relentlessly harass my brother within earshot of my Grandma. He doesn't even like pie. He just eats it to appease her. "Jeff, aren't you going to get some pie? Grandma is dishing up pie in there". "I don't want pie right now". "Oh, I thought you might want some considering how hard she worked and how good it tastes, but I guess not". "I'll get some here in a little bit". "What did you say, you wanted some? Ok..."Hey Grandma, Jeff said he wants a piece of pie, big one too". Then I'll just ask him how the pie tastes, why it's taking him so long to eat it, if he's going to finish it, etc. until he eats the pie. |

Yes, that is miserable. Two places in one day sucks as well. You don't get time to relax and let your meal settle. You can't have too much wine or beer because you have to drive. Then when you arrive at your second dinner, everyone is mildly offended that you aren't loading up your plate when you just ate enough to feed eighteen people at your first stop.

I forgot about the relentless questions about when I'm going to propose to my girlfriend too.

exactly.
plus, the 1st stop was usually a killer Italian spread Thanksgiving; whereas the other stops were 'meh'. hard not to just go to town eating dinner at the 1st stop.

for YEARS. finally one day, after quite a few martinis, wine, and beer, I looked up just long enough from stuffing my face, to say (which a mouthful of food....and staring at my plate) "nah....can't. Doc said somethin's wrong with my semen" . then continued to eat. literally has never been brought up again. I'm not sure if it's because i was serious or not...but I don't care. #worthit

My wife and I have been married a year; so the baby talk will only grow with each passing holiday. I expect Christmas of next year is the real boiling point if we haven't got a baby cooking by then. |

I'm having Thanksgiving with friends at a lake house. We are bringing a keg of homebrew. No complaints this year.

My wife's family does not make mashed potatoes. Until having thanksgiving with them I did not even know that was possible.
