Last year we started getting burned with a few big plays and Sutton moved into a very bend/don't break approach to prevent that from happening. Then we'd tighten up again when they got down to the red zone. He looks to be trying that philosophy again this year but the problem is we're still giving up big plays. We need the personnel to execute and get picks if we employ this approach. Right now we aren't really getting picks or sacks. Taffy D pretty much describes it perfectly.

Boss, I'm sure you are a nice guy and all, but I have a hard time taking anything you say about football serious after you spent 9 months telling everyone around here that they were a football moron if they didn't see how Geno Smith was the greatest thing since sliced bread. Hopefully you are onto something this time.

My stance on Geno was that he would need to sit and learn for a minimum of 2 years. I was of the stance for YEARS that we needed to make a serious investment in a QB from the draft. Even if they need to sit for multiple years and will cost a high first. In 15 years, I’ll beat that drum again. |

Let me know when he has looked at all that film to solidify the fact that Sutton is "saving" stuff. |

Yea without showing the evidence of blitz percentages vs drop coverage on the stretch of games this is a assumption at best. I’ll give it to you that it does seem like they go in streaks but it seems like there could be many other factors contributing to this. Example would be opposing oline, QB, etc.
