Restaurants of yesteryear

What Restaurants did you grow up around? I'm not talking super fancy and yes fast-food counts. What distinctive memories do you associate with them?

Mine?

Taco Via-(the lit up menu of the various taco plates displayed on the wall), WhiteCastle-On a paper plate with fries and Pepsi, Arthur Treachers(off Noland), Tippins(off Noland), Perkins(the free toy well), Country Deli(awesome local deli to Blue Springs heated sandwiches on Sourdough buns), Zarda BBQ and Dairy, FunHouse Pizza(of Course)(Dark. Video- Games,Electonic Riding Bull and 25-cent Taco night) Annes Sante Fe.

Keep in mind I never see these anymore living in Georgia.

Hays Hamburgers on Vivion, been there forever and awsome double hamburgers with onions cooked inside the burger.

LC's Hamburgers by 1-29 & 72nd, hamburgers aren't quite as good as Hays, but the rest of the menu is better. Best fries you'll ever have, best shakes & malts too, and awsome pork tenderloines, they are huge and when I was little my mom would buy one and I'd split it with my bro since neither of us were big enough to eat the whole thing ourselves.
Nice contribution to the thread..

I haven't eaten there since the early '90's, but Annie's Santa Fe in Bannister Mall was pretty good.
I always ordered "The Conquistador", basically, a big fuggin enchilada.

OMG! I had forgotten all about that place. They had kick-ass double cheeseburgers. Their tacos were good, too. Even though they had some funky powered cheese on them. I was in there twice a month. Great times back then.

Kenny King's, Burger Chef and Manners come to mind from my part of the world.

Also, we went to the Brown Derby frequently, but that was really an old L.A. thing.

That's funny. Yeah I think T.T.'s had a taco-bar at one point. It was always fair. But my sister and I preferred Taco-Via, I really liked their Taco Burgers.

Anyone remember an old Mexican place called the Red Bull? IIRC, it was between 67th & 75th along I-35.
