Yes, because young players that have shown ability early in their careers have never improved from one year to the next.

PB can't avoid over-emotional responses to players, no matter which sport or team. For baseball, if you're not a star hitter, you're terrible. If the Royals address 2B and RF - or at least one of them - Escobar's offense recovering becomes less important. Fact of the matter is, Bonifacio is probably better/higher upside than any other SS option that could be obtained, anyway. I was talking to a few friends about that today... And I like the idea of bringing in Howie Kendrick over the winter. He's not cheap, but he's reasonably signed through 2015 and would be a nice veteran addition to the lineup. Price wouldn't be too crazy... likely something like Ventura, Hochevar, + a lotto ticket like Sam Selman or maybe Gio/Colon. IF they can sign Carlos Beltran, I'd rather see them do that. Either move should be paired with bringing one more veteran starter. KC, with its ballpark and D, should be attractive to guys looking for a short-term rebound.

Why is the KC manager/coach always the last one to know that certain players are awful and killing their team? Ever since Grbac we have been putting up with this shit.

I'm okay with trading Ventura in the right deal, but we need to make sure it is for an impact player. |

Yeah, netting a .710 OPS Kendrick would be a disappointing return for Yordano. Kendrick seems to have thoae Santana esque hot/cold seasons. Which, for Kauffman, is a worthwhile gamble for pitchers but a potentially lethal combination for on/off hitters.

Kinsler is a damn good player, but man is he expensive. And he's been producing well, but not at an elite clip.
I'd rather go after Beltran, even if that means 2 for 30. |

A few things I think the Royals need to look at this offseason:
1) Locking up Hosmer long-term 2) Extending Shields 3) Acquiring Stanton 4) Locking up Moose long-term at the right price is the exact type of gamble that this team should look at. 5) 2B is tough. There just aren't that many great 2B available. Maybe we should look at moving someone from 3B. For example, Brett Lawrie might work at 2B, assuming the Blue Jays would even listen to offers for the guy. It would be a waste of his arm talent, though. Bonifacio has been great in his short time here, as well. |

So you can make deposits on season tickets for 2014 now. But I can't find anything on what the actual prices might look like. The deposit is non refundable so I don't want to pay it and be stuck paying crazy amounts for tickets. Anyone know what they might be? What are this years prices for the dugout box or the other lower level sections? And do you have to pay to park every game?

I was simply quoting the part that showed you did see $16 million in savings that could be budgeted for a pitcher like Santana next year after you asked me if I knew what budgets were. And see... I learned so much from you! Now please go back to creating your bizarro line-up that doesn't include Butler or Gordon either. |

He's an above-average 2B... not a star, but a good player. I might be overselling his cost... probably am, with a top 40 prospect like Ventura.
