Off Season Lets Talk Guns
Been a while since we had a guns n' ammo discussion.
Some of you are AR shooters Im sure. Im looking at a Colt 6920. Will be my first AR. Picked up a Glock this fall and really enjoy shooting it. Any feedback on that weapon? Anyone else been in a buy/sell/trade mood with hardware? Part 2: http://www.chiefsplanet.com/BB/showthread.php?t=293623 Last edited by Bearcat; 07-28-2015 at 06:06 PM.. |

I have one. Mine is the piston model which now I wish I would have went with just the normal gas operated. Mine has a issue right now that I haven't been able to get resolved. They changed the parts for the piston system and I just need a simple grommet and set screw but they don't use them any more. I could fix it by replacing the piston system but it is pricey. Solid shooter other than that but I would recommend the conventional gas tube style.

Prior to today 22LR has been so dirt cheap that it was never economical to reload. Plus it's not like you can replace the primer in rimfire. Outside of badass use of brass as bullet casing, until someone figures out an easy way to reprimer rimfire reloading simply won't be done.

There's some pretty neat stuff in the world of casting your own bullets. I've never tried it but read a lot from people that do.
Besides the .22lr into .224 bullets, they are turning .223 brass into .308 bullets after it can't be reloaded anymore. 9mm cases become .40 bullets, .40 cases become .45 bullets. There is a link in the first post I linked and in the re-loading section of that site is a wealth of other info. Posted via Mobile Device |

Cool, thanks. My dad works with a guy who found them in stock at a gun store in Columbia (MO) with base models starting at $800. Since it would only be a couple of hour drive for me I was thinking about running out there once my refund check came in. I just got home to find it waiting for me.

Not the best deal, but you'll be hard-pressed to find anybody else with 5K round cases of .22 in stock.
