Restaurants of yesteryear
What Restaurants did you grow up around? I'm not talking super fancy and yes fast-food counts. What distinctive memories do you associate with them?

Mine?

Taco Via-(the lit up menu of the various taco plates displayed on the wall), WhiteCastle-On a paper plate with fries and Pepsi, Arthur Treachers(off Noland), Tippins(off Noland), Perkins(the free toy well), Country Deli(awesome local deli to Blue Springs heated sandwiches on Sourdough buns), Zarda BBQ and Dairy, FunHouse Pizza(of Course)(Dark. Video- Games,Electonic Riding Bull and 25-cent Taco night) Annes Sante Fe.

Keep in mind I never see these anymore living in Georgia.

I'm pretty sure that Chi Chi's is gone. I heard that the Blue Ridge mall is gone/closed down as well.

no there is a texas toms I think on 87th and blue ridge i think it looks like a convient store that sells tacos I don't know if it's the same thing or not

Yeah it's gone. I remember going to the Jones Store in elementary school at BRM buying my one pair of Jordache jeans alloted per school year and stoping by the Orange Julius.

yeah, the blue ridge mall was bulldozed and there is a Super Wal-mart there now.

I wonder if it's as bad as what I saw while working at Minskys in Blue Springs

saw a manager wash the urinal screen in the dishwasher (yes he still works there)

same manager came out of the stall when I was at the urinal, walked right by me and out the door on his way to the kitchen to make pizzas. Never washed his hands.

dough mixer was leaking oil down into the dough as it was being made. It did this for 2 days before they had it fixed.

I will NEVER eat there again
