Time to geek out.
What are you looking forward too?

I'm looking forward to more on the PlayStation 4, a competent Vita lineup, and some NHL 14 news.

$100 says PS4/Xbox games will go up by at least $10 .

The online passes don't bother me since I rarely ever play online. What I would like to see them do is sell you the game for $49 and then give you the option for the $10 online pass. At least on the multiplayer heavy games.

Very likely, everything is going to go up. Controllers, games, headsets, etc, etc, etc.

Also, there are some rumors out there that it's actually the publishers requesting the ability to block used games - if true, it won't matter what console you are on, you'll be paying for it.

Edit: But, if true - that still only means the only restrictions for PS4 will be if you want play online, not offline. Different situation with MS.

All the more reason I hope they don't kill the used game market.

I don't think this (for either console) will make much of a change for anyone buying used games at Gamestop/Best Buy/etc. I think it's people that sell on Craigslist/Mom&Pop game stores/etc that will see the problems.

I'm not sure how an increase in cost, by say 10, will influence my game buying. Granted, I rarely buy a new game. Last two were NBA2k13 and BF3.

I'd say I'd be even more selective with new games. Could be a different ball game for me if the used market goes by the wayside. Haven't read up at all on that subject.

I think you'll see both systems at some point going digital download only - eliminating the discs. MS is obviously set up the One for that, hell they are basically setting their system up with that in mind - PS4 is likely set up for it as well.

Personally, I would prefer the digital/no disc route - but that's me. The only real issue I have with the One at this point is the daily online verification (although rumors are they are already changing that to 7 days or something).

I was thinking about platforms moving to digital last night during the sony presentation, and how everything was clearly defined by "disk copies" on their visuals. It was almost like they were leaving themselves a window to shift to microsoft's strategies down the line. But I'm probably just paranoid.

They need to change it to no days because it is a stupid ass policy. An internet connection should not be required just to play a single player game.

Not a fan of the digital only option either. I like being able to get some money back for games I no longer play. NOW that being said, if they put together Steam like sales then I would feel differently.

I agree. It doesn't REALLY affect me because the first thing I do when I get on my 360 is sign into Live so I wouldn't ever be locked out of any single player game, but it's definitely an problem if there was a major issue with our internet provider.

I can see that being an issue for most people. Honestly, anyone who has purchased software from MS (like Office, etc) online knows that they are moving everything they have to a cloud based system for all software.

If they would drop the digital price a little bit to accommodate for no disc/case/etc, I'd never buy another actual disc again.

sometimes we would take the xbox on vacation with us but there was no internet connection. With their new policy it would just be a brick.

I find it ridiculous that there are still games that are almost a year old that they want to charge full price for online. Its just stupid.
