McCluster was never as fast as advertised. But he proved to be extremely reliable as a hands receiver and on punt returns, dude had tremendous awareness after the catch and set of balls before the catch. Not a guy to break away for 80 yards but a guy who could easily turn a fair catch into 10 yards.

When he lined up as PR I told my girlfriend to watch his little ass and see what happens.

Opposing ST teams better get used to it.

They should let him return kicks too~

Toub is going to start getting some HC looks I think. Guy is a flat out amazing coach. I realize that Thomas had a good return, but the lane he had due to the wall being set was a thing of beauty.

Toub is no doubt, a good coach. But he was blessed with a good collection of players on the Special teams last year (as a whole).

Colquitt is very, very good.
Zombo was a huge addition to our special teams unit
Cyrus Gray
Moses
Abdullah
Sherman
Akeem Jordan.
Quentin Demps
McCluster
Ron Parker
Gafford
Lewis
Robinson
Etc

He had a very solid and experienced unit across the board last year.

This year is going to be a much better measuring stick for Toub.

He's lost a number of these guys from the roster, and also that have moved up to Starting defensive roles.

He's working with a new and much less experienced special teams cast.

Yeah, you go ahead and be skeptical of the one huge advantage the Chiefs have over other teams in the NFL.

Enjoy.

I'm actually not skeptical. Toub is fabulous, and am excited to see what he can do. It's just that last year was somewhat a perfect storm for special teams on both coverage and returns regarding personnel. Abdullah and Demps were amazing in all facets of ST.

This year, for me, will give more of an overall better picture of to the extent of Toub's coaching. He's will be fielding a lot of youth this time around in his units. Sure guys like Zombo, Jordan, Gafford, Moses, and Sherman are returning and will help tremendously, but on the outside we've got a lot of youth. I'm excited to see what Toub and the unit as a whole does!

It doesn't really matter unless he's actually going to play running back. We could list him as the 3rd RB, but if he's not going to actually play RB he might as well be listed at WR. It'd be the same difference.
