*.* 2014 General Fitness Thread *.*
Welcome to 2014! Now get your ass in top physical condition!
No one else started it so here it is! **From the 2013 Thread** If you want to get back into lifting, or need a new lifting routine, START HERE: http://startingstrength.wikia.com/wi...inner_Programs If you have questions about the SS programs, look here: http://startingstrength.wikia.com/wiki/FAQ Keep in mind that you're a novice lifter for a longer period of time than you think you are. Novice lifting can last anywhere from a few months to a year or two, depending on how hard you hit the weights and where you started. Once you've reached the point where you don't make regular progress on the SS program, you are ready to move on to the intermediate stage, which can last you for a good number of years. Find it HERE: http://madcow.hostzi.com/5x5_Program/Linear_5x5.htm If you're a very advanced lifter (many, many years of CONSISTENT weight training), then there are lot of programs out there, and which one you pick is simply a matter of preference. If you're really that advanced, you should know what works for you and what doesn't by this point. |

Trust me, there are no issues with there. I'm probably at a regional champ level when it comes to dumps.
Bloat has to be it. I hadn't busted out the tape measure in a while and with everything else being the same or better it seems the most likely. Or I have giant abs now. |

I agree that dedicating a whole training session to just biceps is stupid, however you DO need direct arm work if your goal is indeed maximum arm size and strength. I like to train them on saturday, they work well as antagonistic pairing super sets.
rope pushdowns - hammer curls (good elbow warmup) weighted dips - barbell curl decline close grip bench - seated dumbell curl with fat grips (or grip 4 forces) overhead rope extension (good stretch for long head) - reverse curl I also like to do calves on saturday since im too wiped after legs to do them. |

A lot of guys like ON protein. I hate the taste of it. I prefer Complete Nutrition's V-Core. Not a lot of calories for the protein and I prefer the taste. The cost is about the same plus you can save $11/mo if you join their preferred member list.

I'm still staying active via workouts - but not back to normal quite yet.

Measurement day yesterday!
Overall body fat % lost since I started: 7% In the past month, I've gone down: Neck: -.25" Chest: -1" Waist: -1.5" Hips: -2.75" Bicep: same Thigh: -1.5" I was kind of shocked to see that's I'd lost 11.7 lbs in the past four weeks. I know I record it every week, but I guess I just hadn't taken the time to add it up. I'm officially down 53lbs! My trainer feels like I'm ready to learn a few more advanced lifts. Next week, he is going over dead lifts with me. A few others, but I didn't recognize what he called them, so I don't remember what they were. I'm looking forward to it. OH! And, even though I still have my stupid wings, I also have a muscle that pops up when I flex my biceps. It's not very big, but it didn't use to do that. Last edited by luv; 03-20-2014 at 08:01 AM.. |
