*** Official 2015 Royals Repository ***

In this thread: All things related to the AL Champions.

Duncan's Official Team Record prediction: 90 wins
Duncan's Official Team MVP prediction: Eric Hosmer

I can't wait for this season to start. The AL Central should be a very entertaining race. I'll give brief thoughts on each team the Royals must contend with to make it back to the postseason - strengths and weaknesses.

Detroit Tigers:
Strength: The offense is still full of powerful hitters, and Miguel Cabrera may be healthier.
Weakness: Rotation is questionable after Price and Sanchez, bullpen continues to be horrible.

Cleveland Indians:
Strength: Great manager and a deep, versatile lineup.
Weakness: The rotation is a question mark past Corey Kluber, and even he has a few questions about him.

Chicago White Sox:
Strength: 1-2-3 combo of Sale, Quintana and Samardzija is pretty formidable. Offense is anchored by Jose Abreu, too.
Weakness: Defense still has major questions, and this team has 20 games to improve by if it really wants to make the playoffs.

The Royals will be a division winner IF ...
1) Ventura and Duffy combine for 375+ innings of high-quality work
2) Eric Hosmer delivers on his potential with a FULL season of success rather than bursts
3) The deeper bullpen lessens the critical load on Herrera, Davis and Holland
4) Lorenzo Cain stays healthy
5) Either Alex Rios or Kendrys Morales bounces back to 2013 form

Let's get this started!

Good points in the pstgame show.

Says this is sustainable because no one is really playing over their heads. No one doing things that are just remarkable and unexpected.

Every facet of the team is doing exactly what the team expected of them, maybe some even are a little below expectations still, looking at you Omar...

They just showed this 7 game comparison on MLB Network. Pretty profound.

Also, this is just...weird. I was browsing old Royals vids on Youtube and found this. It's the 1990 FanFest at the K. Why did they just put the players on display like that? That's weird as shit.

We've got a 4.5 game lead over Chicago and Cleveland and a 5 game lead over Minnesota. The Twins are a terrible baseball team...no chance of them being a factor in the division.

I haven't seen much of Cleveland this year, so I can't speak to them, but I don't think Chicago is a team than can play .600 ball for the last 150 games of the season. If they get down by 7 or 8 games, they're toast.

We have a chance to absolutely bury 3/4 of our division by the end of April. I can't even wrap my mind around it.

I know I should slow my roll, but I'm trying to look at it like an Indians/Sox/Twins fan. What is the road map to catching both the Royals and Tigers if you fall 8 games back in April? Every one of those teams has already been swept by the Royals or Tigers in dominating fashion. The math of what it would take for those teams to get to 90 wins is already daunting...and even that may not win the division.

Is it unheard of to retaliate when the competition is obviously plunking our players without remorse?? Someone's gonna get hurt. Rios got one on the hand for cripes sake. C'mon, Ned, start dialing up the flame throwers, I bet we can do a lot more damage, if in fact that's their gameplan. 100+ mph into a rib cage ? Send a message, **** 'em!

52-25.

To clarify this... The Royals have played four games under half a season of baseball at a 110 win pace.

I don't get this bullshit saying we need to retaliate on the hit batters. Only other than opening day I doubt any were intentional. Second why the **** do you want to give a base runner to make some dumb point. They are all lefties that are getting hit because the scouting report is to go inside on our guys and these relievers have piss poor control.

OK Einstein, how's come our pitchers aren't doing the same thing, is I guess what I am asking. I didn't realize they were ALL relievers? Really? And a dumb point? Ask the players if they feel it's a dumb point. And furthermore, you have access to the opposing team's scouting report, cool, tell us what the Twins are going to do Wednesday as far as pitching to our players,

Lets ****ing nail their batters because the dumbasses are trying to go inside on our guys. Inside pitches have always been hard to for Hosmer, Moose, Gordon to hit. Clearly with the bases loaded let's ****ing hit a batter. Yep. I'm sure that's intentional. Time for us to beam somebody.

The team batting numbers aren't sustainable. The bullpen not giving up a single run is not sustainable. Having perfect health thus far probably isn't sustainable. That said, the Tigers are in the same boat ---- they aren't going to continue to hit and pitch quite like this either.
