Did anyone honestly ever point out a better(realistic) option than retaining Crennel? I'm thoroughly indifferent about this hire, but it could be worse. Everyone knows it's about the players we add/subtract, specifically QB.

Yes. There's plenty of younger guys with proven records who are ready to be a head coach.

The Colts could have won more titles if they didn't have Dungy/Caldwell.

Maybe.

If you look back at some of the Colts play off losses, Payton struggled some and even threw some ints.

He threw a costly one vs the Saints.

I hate to defend the guy, but I think its an insult to say that about Knowmo. They both are annoying trolls, but atleast Knowmo brings some stats up. He reaches like hell, but he tries really hard and is creative. LAChief just says the most extreme thing he can think of with zero to back it up. Not nearly as entertaining.

I'm realistic. I know Cassel isn't going anywhere.

My best case scenario is that Orton is retained, even as a backup to start the season. With a superior backup riding the pine, eventually Cassel's shitty play will be his undoing with Orton riding a majestic steed into the huddle. Without Orton backing up Cassel, you will simply have Cassel shitting himself game after game until we're far enough out of the playoff picture to start Stanzi. In my opinion, signing Orton gives us more hope for one of those "magical" years than anything else.

Huh?

So if we take away some of his losses, then he has more wins than losses?

BRILLIANT!

Quinn is Crennel's QB of choice from his Cleveland days! The only reason Quinn is not the starter on this team is because Cassel is Pioli's frat brother from the Patriots!
