Am watching The Road..... was prepared for it to be bleak, but whoa.
Final take - I need to read the book. Viggo Mortensen was excellent, as always. The kid did an excellent job, otherwise the move would have fallen flat. Last edited by Skyy God; 06-18-2010 at 10:37 PM.. |

War Games was awesome 80s fun.
It was on Hulu. Also on Hulu - for anyone who hasn't seen it - is Lord of War, which is fantastic.

It's a good book, but like you said, bleak. I kept thinking about it for days afterwards. It's a short book, it wouldn't take long to read.

Watched The Fall last night. I didn't remember adding it to my list so I was surprised when it showed up.
I enjoyed it. It's basically a paralyzed stunt man from the 20's who manipulated a little girl using stories to get him morphine while in the hospital. The stunt man is the pie maker, so that was weird. The little girl is the hit of the movie though. It rare that a little kid does such a good job of acting like a little kid. |

I like The Fall. It feels like a D&D campaign from when I was in 5th grade. It also happens to be visually stunning. Everyone with a Blu-Ray player owes it to themselves to rent The Fall just for the visuals. |

Went to see Knight and Day last night. I liked it. One of the better movies of the summer but that's because most of the movies this summer suck.

I watched Legion last night. And surprisingly I really liked it. I also saw Youth In Revolt a couple of nights ago -- thought it'd be better.

I watched Pandorum last night with Dennis Quaid. It was ok for a late night, throw it up on Netflix instant watch movie. Sci-fi, horror movie with a moderately interesting twist.

Watched Unthinkable last night...really solid flick, extremely tense.
IMO Samuel L.'s best performance in quite some time. |

The Road was intense.
Does the book explain why the world is dying? |

No. There's a flashback at one point where there's something like a flash of light and then it says the clock stopped, but I think it's deliberately vague as to exactly what happened. I know clocks would supposedly stop with a nuclear bomb, but the dust doesn't seem to be radioactive, so you can never tell if it was a bomb, asteroid, or some sort of other disaster.

watched "From Paris With Love"...
Travolta was badass but the movie literally had no point...no point whatsoever... It was literally, and I'll say it for a third time, a pointless movie with a bunch of awesome Travolta kills. Plotline was miserable. |

I told a guy at work that it was so overwhelmingly depressing it made suicide look fun, he kind of rolled his eyes and said "It can't be that bad". He came in the next day and agreed with me.
