The constant negativity is tiresome. Who is ready to join me and move on?

I'm finding this constant negativity tiresome. We have sucked for years. We were an embarrassment. A big ****ing joke. I'm done with the negativity.

I wanted Geno. I think we overpaid for Smith. I'm scratching my head over some of their moves.

Reid and Dorsey obviously have a plan. For crissakes, Reid watched every down of every player for the whole ****ing year before he even met with Clark. I'm going to give them AT LEAST a half a season before I start calling them dumb-asses and screaming for their head.

I don't think I'm accepting mediocrity by choosing to not scream and yell and be totally pissed off by the moves so far. If you think so, you are entitled to you opinion.

I was an early and financial supporter of SOC. Season ticket holder for years. I think anyone would label me a hard core Chiefs fan. Just like most of the posters on this board. We deserve better than we have been given by our team. I will be a Chiefs fan until I become worm food. Lifes too short to go around pissed all the time. I did enough of that the last few years.

I'm going to chose to hope that Reid and Dorseys plan is sound and will result in the return of winning football and our first playoff win since the Montana era. Who's with me?

This move hurts even more because this offseason the Chiefs are in the driver's seat to draft a franchise QB in Geno Smith.

I'll give Dorsey/Reid one season to prove me wrong, but the QB is the foundation and the foundation is wrong.

Sorry, but this is the kink of overboard reaction I think this is all about. Don't like it. Don't like the philosophy. But when people say that Alex is the same, that he has performed on the same level, or that he is a "worse game manager than Cassel" its just not intellectually honest. He had a bad start to his career with injuries and multiple systems/HC's. But for 2 years he's been at worst an elite "game manager" who has also stepped up in big games and led his team to home field the last 2 years. None of those other QB's had the same accomplishments or ability. He isnt Montana or Green, but he's better than Grbac, Cassel Krieg, or Bono. Maybe he will pan out maybe not, but as a fan dont you have to hope for the best outcome/scenario? If nothing else this coach obviously doesn't believe in Geno. Period. If he did he wouldn't have made this trade the day after meeting with him. Maybe you disagree with his assesment, but those are the facts. They got rid of Cassel and he made the best move available given his assesment of the draft talent. Give it a couple of games before burning a cross in front of Arrowhead. 2 cents...

I think Alex Smith is completely incomparable to that.

I think he's comparable to 2010 Matt Cassel. At his best.

And we all know where that leads.

Sorry, WHAT?

Grbac and Bono BOTH led the Chiefs to home field advantage.

Grbac and Bono BOTH had their moments where they stepped up.

Grbac to Rison on the last play against the Raiders? Bono doing his best Montana impression against the Chargers? Hell, Bono beat Brett Favre once.

If you want to talk about being intellectually dishonest...you are.

The only thing separating Alice Smith is his ONE playoff game against the Saints. People are clinging to that...so good luck.

Know how this ends?

How can you possibly compare Alex Smith's play in the playoffs in 2011 to Matt Cassel's in 2010?

That makes no sense. Polar opposites.

Yeah like I said, cling to that.

What Alex Smith did in the regular season the last two years...is a lot like 2010 Matt Cassel.

Good thing he can turn it up in the playoffs unlike Matt Cassel, who peed down his leg against Baltimore.

We don't know if he can turn it up in the playoffs.

He's 1-1, with one good game, and one stream of urine down his leg.

2 TD's and 0 INT's is streaming urine down his leg?

He's never even thrown an INT in the playoffs. Idk how you guys can't give the guy a chance.

Less than 50 percent completion percentage.

1 third down conversion (was it even a pass? don't care to look).

He pissed himself.

Cassel shat himself.

This year has been solid in FA. I'm waiting on the draft. So far i'm on board and we can't be worse than this year. We just need to be able to COMPETE with the Donkos... The Sean Smith FA pic up will allow us to plan man coverage and unleash Hali/Houston so we can finally get some pressure on the pass attack of other teams.

I've never been on the Geno Smith train. Alex Smith and now Chase Daniels will have us set up for the next couple years and that is when we will get our QBOTF. Much better prospects to draft and reign over the AFCW like we did in the 90's.

I'm talking about the "good" 2010 Matt Cassel, who put together a decent stretch in the 2nd half of the season.

I'm disappointed with the QB pick ups and would have been very happy if they had drafted Geno, but Dorsey/Reid clearly don't rate Geno high enough to take at 1.1. There is nothing stopping us from taking a QB in next years first if things don't go well with what we have now, the only problem with that is we won't be drafting at 1.1 unless Smith is an almighty **** up...
