The OL had mistakes, just like every other part of the team had mistakes. Alex Smith made mistakes, Jamaal Charles, dexter mcclusterfuk, penalties, bad throws, bad runs, and that's to be expected. The team has room to grow. Great thing to be saying a team that is 3-0 with 10 off, has room to grow.....much better than being 0-3.....

There were plays left on the field in several instances. The oline didn't play all that well until the 4th quarter. A lot of the OL issues, I attribute to the play calling. its much easier in the NFL for a young oline that is learning to play together, to run the football. I truly believe that Andy found something with Sherman in front of Charles.

Hes not scared to throw down field. Evidenced by his willingness to make a throw when he had to. What he is not going to do however is force a pass when no one is opened. Now, I haven't looked at the all 22 stuff, but to be honest, from the few plays I saw where mayock was screaming that the eagles were dropping 8 and you got to see it from the field view. PEOPLE WERE BLANKETED. We were talking about it in the chat about how great the coverage was, and how the eagles were still getting there with 3 guys.

Ill take alex throwing the ball away, or a sack, and getting either 3, or a punt, over a turnover anyday.

Are you sure he was yelling at ALEX?

There were two instances I saw Andy yelling. One, he was destroying Charles for not putting more effort into that 3rd and 1, and then he was destroying the refs because they didn't give him that measurement.

The outcome of the game proves his style of play as being correct.

For the first 3 quarters of the game I was ready to join Clay's anti-Alex Smith crusade. I was not on his bandwagon ... kinda waiting to see what he will produce and pulling for him. But, how many times did we have a short field and only got a field goal out of it? That will get you beat playing great teams.

But, as boogblaster said, in the "A Broncos blogger's take on the Chiefs" thread ... "yea its kinda like marty-ball .. but I kinda liked marty-ball .. except fo gursuck ....."

Rausch added ... "Alex is the perfect Smashmouth/Martyball/ground-n-pound/Run-oriented-WCO QB ever. Really, honestly, he's that guy. PERFECT."

If our D keeps improving and resembles Martyball 2, Alex just may be the QB we need to win a SB. If he can play like he did last year, I like our chances.

Now, if we need him to be an Elway, Montana, Brees, Manning, or Brady ... nope, he will not cut it.

I personally don't think that style of play is sustainable.

What I don't think is sustainable is KC continuing to win with a huge turnover margin, terrible 3rd down conversion and Bowe being pretty much useless.

The anemic offense will keep games close. Eagles game should have been a blowout. Same with the Cowboys game.

There were 4 key 3rd down conversions Thursday night. When they needed it Smith and Avery came through. And Bowe drew double coverage allowing Avery and others to get open, which is not worthless - very valuable in fact. I don't think you know much about football.

Despite the good start, Chiefs are terrible this season on 3rd down. To think you will have prolonged success while being terrible on 3rd down is downright dumb.

You're questioning my football knowledge and think it's normal to not throw the ball to a top receiver?

You'd have to be a reerun if you think Avery's going to be your go-to guy while Bowe (who is making a shitload of money this year) is used as a decoy.

I think people forget there's a dynamic component to team building. I don't know that this is Alex's preferred style of play but you do it when you don't have the properly developed Oline and receiver core talent. Alex was much more willing to air it or in year two with the niners. Until the line gels, checking it down and winning small victories with minimal risk is how you turn around a 2-14 football team. You will win more than you lose with disciplined football. I think the 2013 chiefs are more talented than the 2011 niners with a softer schedule. And that team went 13 and 3. That Oline was just as porous and a year later people were calling it the best in football.

I guess what in saying is be patient, enjoy the 3-0. You don't become SB contenders overnight even if you have Joe Montana. But you keep building on what you have and good things will happen.

A lot of the time they rushed 3 and dropped 8 back into coverage. They had Bowe blanketed. The problem is that the OL allowed 3 guys to beat 5 blockers on a consistent basis. If our OL can start blocking then Ds won't be able to do that and Bowe will be open more often.

And yes, I'm questioning your football knowledge because you say a LOT of stupid shit.

He's a 49ers fan that is only here because of his obsessive hatred of Alex Smith. He'll never enjoy 3-0 because he isn't a fan of the Chiefs. He is just a pathetic loser that has nothing better to do than follow the QB he hates to another teams forum. Sad, but true.
