Okay, for the sake of fairness, I'm going to level the field:

When I see the offense, not just Alex Smith, REPEATEDLY capitalize on the defense and special teams good work, I will .

Hey Alex Smiff, Alice Smith, kraperNOOB etc etc...

Alex Smith is 3-0

While KraperNOOB is
46.6% and 48.1% comp%, 20.1 QBR and 49.9 QBR, 0 TDs and 4 INTs and 2 Fumble Losses in the last 2 games?!?
KaperNoob is an embarrassment to the 49ers and the fans.
He’s unwatchable.
He’s nothing but a over rated over hype JOKE.
He better carry the team like an elite QB and win on Thur or he needs to be BENCHED.
Put in Colt McCoy.
My friend who still lives in SF, who has been a 49ers fan (30+ years) as me, said he turn the TV
off both weeks, not even worth his time.
What a JOKE.

It's sustainable with Alex Smith.

Winning is the only thing that is important. Passing yards only matter in FF. I'll take a QB that doesn't throw long very often but wins over one that throws long and loses any day of the week.
What funny about this is, Alex is considered the 4th best option in FF at QB. I was surprised by that, and unfortunately the guy I'm playing this week has Alex.

Is this real life?

Sure, I don't really care how they win, but I'd sure as hell like to have confidence that the QB can win games, as opposed to needing to pull out victories despite the QB's play.

That's like saying you would take a pitcher with a 5.4 ERA who just wins or a goalie who wins with a .870 save %... if you have a team that can carry a player like that, you can certainly win with a guy who sacrifices a few INTs for taking chances down field. That player is holding the team back, not 'just winning."

Granted, with the play calling and offensive line play, it's not the worst idea to have the defense carry the team for the time being... but, it's crap like this that leaves me little doubt that people couldn't handle developing a QB.

Ask Bowe whether he wants to develop a QB for years or whether he wants to be a playoff contender now. See, it's easier for the fans to take the patient approach in developing a QB while sucking... but the players have suffered enough and want to finally have that winning taste.. or they may just mail it in and look longingly for the exit sign.

Good thing for KC that now, they can win games now and be respectable as they develop a QB... if not Bray, then some other youngster next season.

Agreed. It wasn't that long ago that a certain QB who played in the AFC East was viewed negatively for being carried by his defense. It's happening again to a lesser degree in the same organization - and that QB is getting blasted as well.

Meanwhile, in KC...

I love how "young QB" equals losses.

There's one who is 2-1 right now with a lesser defense and absolutely no talent around him on offense.

And whether it's right or wrong, I'd bet anything that Bowe would rather be 2-1 with 20+ catches than 3-0 getting ignored.

WR's are divas.

Unfortunately, we picked the wrong year to have the first pick in the draft to select a once in a generation QB.

Bowe gets paid quite nicely. He should clean out the bathrooms if asked.

Yep... if anything, someone could make that point for JC or someone like Tony Gonzales who's at the end of his career, but "years of development" might only mean a 2-3 seasons, and a defense like this can cover up a couple of interceptions.

I mean, you can't say "Smith just wins" while ignoring the 3 and outs from midfield and from inside the 10 in the first quarter last week AND say the team would be worse off if they had a QB who sacrificed a couple of INTs for stretching the field.
