He can't keep running like this. Make a decision, make it quickly and get rid of the ball. Agree 100% with the JC comment as well. We've been fortunate to get away with waiting until the 4th quarter to try to runt he ball. Won't get away with that forever. |

Still too early for me at this point though, to shell out over $100 (granted, I'd be driving across town, not the entire state). I know it's easy to call us haters and "we'll never be happy," but it personally took me years to get the idea of watching every game every weekend out of my head and forcing myself not to waste money and time on tickets. I've jumped at the chance to do it a few times and it's bitten me in the ass, so in the meantime I'm happy with my HD and RedZone.

I firmly believe that a team that can win the battle in the trenches and find balance with passing game, along with a stout defense, can be a dominant powerhouse for years. I also believe that taking 2 or 3shots a game down the field opens up vthings both on the ground and in the passing game. If Reid adjusted his playcalling to play to the strength they've displayed late in each of the last 2 games, and added a couple of play action deep balls, this offense could be a formidable one.

As is usually the case, the people on both sides of the argument are accusing the other side of being one extreme or the other. Alex Smith isn't THE reason the Chiefs are 3-0, but he also isn't a non factor in it either. The truth is he's doing his part. I imagine he's doing exactly what he was brought here to do, play a ball control, mistake free game. Make a play when they need one, which he's done, and facilitate the offense.

The O sputters and doesn't look crisp til the club is ahead late and they start to run the ball.

Instead, we're trying to use PA when we haven't even tried to establish the run. |

The Saints you have to cover Graham, Colston, and Sproles, and then Lance Moore kills you if you focus on those guys. The packers have Nelson, Cobb, Jermichael, then you just throw in James Jones and that's just a head ache. The offense has to find consistency, but placing this all at the feet of a qb who has not turned the ball over at all, and proven to be clutch when needed, is hilarious. Eli Manning, 0-3, Ben Roethlisberger 0-3, Kaep 1-2, Aaron Rodgers 1-2. Every single one of them, can take some blame to themselves because their turnovers, have hurt their teams..... Quote:
The packers oline when they won the super bowl, had long time left tackle, chad Clifton, and long time right tackle Tauscher. This is always funny to me. The bears, have added Jermon Bushrod, and Kyle long, as well as an offensive genius to their offense. Not to mention Martellius Bennett, and they have forte, and a quality back up running back. They also can run out Earl Bennett as a security blanket for Jay Cutler, and I did all that without mentioning a top 5 wide receiver in Brandon Marshall.

[QUOTE=Mavericks Ace;10018137]Gee, three guys, who each have one super bowl, and the year they won their super bowls, Peyton Manning, super bowl sealed by Kelvin Hayden and it was more the defense that won the super bowl, Aaron Rodgers, super bowl sealed by Picks by Bj Raji, and Nick Collins, and was more about the defense than the offense, and Drew Brees, who had a defense that created turnovers left and right, and was sealed by Tracy Porter on a mistake by forehead.
Just when I want to give you some credit you go and do this Geez, those guys ONLY have only won 1 SB each they had nothing to do with it. Obviously Alex could have taken those teams to the SB right? |
