The ravens were in a shit position.

They had a qb who got extremely hot and a bit lucky and ran through the playoffs playing well, who was due a new deal.

Talk about a right place right time kinda thing.

If I have the choice to pay Matt Ryan 20 or to pay Alex Smith 12... I'd gladly write that check for 20.

20 is the current rate for a "good starting quarterback"...the elite guys are getting closer to 25/yr

Same as I feel it shouldn't be used to prop up Alex smith, I don't think wins should be used to justify qb play.

Wins, SB wins too, are team oriented.
