Somebody's gotta have the inside scoop on Google Fiber launching tomorrow..??
https://fiber.google.com/savethedate/
Live broadcast over YouTube tomorrow. Anybody have any early news on this? Will it be available all over the Metro? How long will the waiting list be? Anybody know anything? I'm impatient. |

They are a business also, they are not going to lose money and hire more contractors to speed it up. |

I have tv. No AMC which sucks a bit. The box is the size of a small paperback novel, not the monstrosity that some others roll out. The guide can be slow at times and I've had to replace one remote in the close to 2 years I've had it. Remote is bluetooth though so it's range is large.

I really like it. I use my phone as a remote with the Google app they have. The Cable box is so small compared to the monsters that Time Warner has. I hadn't had cable for 5 years before that so they have a million channels that I have never heard of and they add new channels periodically.

A slow guide could actually be a deal breaker for me.
How fast is the channel switch? |

Channel switch is pretty fast and I don't really use the guide much as I have my key channels memorized. I had a box freeze up on me once while exiting out of Netflix. A couple minute web chat had it fixed. The customer experience, or lack there of, makes it worth it for me. The AMC thing is my biggest gripe and that's pretty minor.
