You have no idea what Albert is asking for. Maybe the chiefs feel they cant work a long term deal out with him. Better to trade him and get something then let him walk for free in 2014.

They're mad cause we are apperantly trading a good young player for monetary reasons and creating an unnecessary hole to be filled with a pick we could use to upgrade another are like a pass rusher

That's all fine and dandy and I have no problem with trading him if that is the case.

However, it doesn't change the fact that the 1.1 pick will be wasted on a ****ing tackle because we traded our #34 pick + a conditional 3rd in 2014 for a shit ass bottom half of the league QB.

Seriously...if we were to keep Albert and draft Geno and he busts, we still have Alex Smith. That right there means we aren't "screwed for 4 years" But if it works out, we have a top notch guy for 12-15 years.

There is no downside to taking Geno...but the upside could be phenomenal.
