Time to geek out.
What are you looking forward too?

I'm looking forward to more on the PlayStation 4, a competent Vita lineup, and some NHL 14 news.

If MS doesn't do away with that online check or at least extend it to once a month type deal, I'll be surprised. The outrage over it is too high and it, among other things, is pushing people that are more Xbox (like myself) away from them.

I'm actually thinking I might grab a PS3 after the new consoles come out if the price drops. There are quite a few games I'd love to play.
In 2014 most of the popular PS3 games will be available on the PS4's cloud service for download if that means anything to you.

And after listening to Microsoft it seems like they are extremely committed to this always online thing.

Quote:
In an interview filmed prior to Microsoft’s E3 2013 press briefing and published on GameTrailers, Microsoft’s Don Mattrick has addressed concerns about the compulsory connectivity requirements of Xbox One.

“"Fortunately we have a product for people who aren't able to get some form of connectivity; it’s called Xbox 360,” said Mattrick.

“If you have zero access to the Internet, that is an offline device.”

Mattrick is aware of the kinds of gamers who’ll be missing out on Xbox One, and “absolutely” anticipated some blowback, but went on to reiterate he feels they have made the right call.

“Seriously, when I read the blogs and thought about who’s really the most impacted there was a person who said, ‘Hey I’m on a nuclear sub.’ And I don’t even know what it means to be on a nuclear sub but I’ve got to imagine it’s not easy to get an internet connection. But hey, I can empathise; if I was on a sub I’d be disappointed.

“It’s a service-based world, if you think about things and how they get better with an internet connection, that’s a design choice we’ve made. I think people will appreciate it... We did a lot of testing, a lot of consumer research and I think we made a good choice.”

Mattrick said Microsoft appreciates the passion of gamers but he believes gamers are “imagining outcomes that are worse than what we believe it’s going to be in the real world.”
http://www.ign.com/articles/2013/06/...ource=facebook

Of course, these comments were made prior to E3 so they might reconsider after what Sony did. Or maybe they are just unbelievably arrogant and think that consumers will stick with them no matter what.

That does. Will likely save me from buying a PS3 if I can play the Infamous series & such on the PS4.

Infamous is an awesome series. I don't really get into single player games all that much but Infamous is one of the few single player games I really enjoyed.

Sweet! Titanfall could be coming to the PS4

Quote:
Let's put it plainly: will PlayStation owners ever see Titanfall?

"It's definitely not out of the question," Emslie replied. "We have a huge appreciation for the fans. Coming out and showing it to everybody, we're super nervous and wanted to make sure everybody loved it. We love all our fans, whatever console they support.

"So yeah. We want to make everybody happy, but this is where we're at right now."

Is there some difference between the Launch edition & Standard editions on the consoles?

The launch editions are just what Amazon has in stock and can guarantee for release date delivery. I think the XBOX 1 launch edition comes with a special day one controller or something though.

Yep out of all the games shown at the Sony/XBOX conferences, Titanfall was the one I wanted to play the most. From lurking around some forums, most expect Titanfall to be a timed release and PS4 should get it 6 months to a year after it launches on the Xbone.

Sony can trash Microsoft all they want. But they have since come out saying that the will let game developers do DRM if they chose to. So believe it or not it will probably be on both systems. As far as always online goes, who cares? Most of the games even PS4 showed they used the words "ever evolving" and talked about how a player can hop in at any time. Think any of that will work without being online? I hate the used game thing, but I really dont buy used games, just sell. But with that said it makes since for microsoft, just due to the fact that it actually loads the disk onto your Xbox like a PC. They dont want multiple systems running the same game, this is also the reason behind the 24 hour check in. They dont want people pirating software on their system.
