Wouldn't it make sense that they know something about Albert that we don't? Whether it's his attitude or his his health or whatever? Or maybe it's the fact that: 1. The best prospects in this draft this year are the 3 LT's. 2. There is NO depth for LT in this draft after those 3. 3. They want an elite caliber LT for 10 years instead of a LT that is about to be 30 and can't stay healthy for a full season.

If the want to put the best ol out there this year, they'd keep Albert and draft one of te top guys to play rt.
It would be value questionable taking a rt that early but money wise it would be fine |

I tend to agree...perhaps to get Albert's demands down a bit? Or moreso to leverage people to trade up for the #1?
Either way...the only questionable move in my opinion this regime has made has been Alex Smith, so i'm curious to see how this plays out over the next month or so. |

It's ok to draft a QB with the 8th pick in a draft with middling top tier talent, but not at 1.1. With a rookie wage scale in place, what's the ****ing difference? Five million bucks?

So whats the stop them from keeping albert on the franchise tag, trading down with whomever, drafting the best OT there, and seeing how the rest plays out.

So becaus the best prospects are LTs you wanna create a hole so you can draft one? That's treading water IMO especially when you already have a guy that's a good player coming off his rookie deal. You also can look at next years draft where there are 3 potential LTs as good as te 3 in this draft. You yourself stated a few weeks ago how big of a let down it would be taking a lt at 1, now it's cool. If he's injury prone, fine don't sign him. However if that's the problem I would have rather let him walk than potentially be paying an injured lt 10 mil this year |
