Kaepernick can and did run about 3x better than Smith.

That is why he was given the chance to learn on the run, literally.

If a pocket passing guy with no starts in the NFL was being groomed it wouldn't of happened.
Haurbaugh was ready to try and ride the wave of young mobile QBs.

If you beat your man TFB is getting you the ball. It just so happens that the guys that routinely beat the coverage aren't outside WR's.

It's not about throwing it long or throwing it short. It's about getting your best players the ball.

Last season I'd say he was a better option for the 49ers to win. We'll never know.

This year I don't know. I think Smith is approx 11th best QB in the NFL.

Kaepernick sample size is so small the range of what he is is wide. How fast will his target progression development? Will his drop and touch passes be more consistent?
