It was Thursday night... KC was @ Philly... and all that day, I was excited. As the game starts, my pulse rushes with adrenaline... this goes on all game long as I am pinned to the TV in hopes of a KC victory.

Now skip to Sunday. It's almost noon, and I elect to watch NOLA vs AZ and flip back and forth with other games like STL vs DAL. No excitement.. no adrenaline.. just watching various games for love of the game.

3 hours later that Sunday, here comes the excitement... the adrenaline.. as the 49ers take on the Colts. All game long.. pinned to the TV.

So you... a pure Chiefs fan... likely feel that football excitement for your 3 hours a week. Me as a SF/KC fan? I doubled my pleasure. Would I add more teams to take an emotional attachment to? No. Two is about all I can handle.

There isn't a ton of distinction between the people lashing out and condemning those who "are a fan of more than one team" vs those who like some other teams more than other teams. I like many teams in the NFL... at least more than others. I just happen to like the 49ers the most... and the Chiefs the next most.

So I really think this is all about degrees, semantics, and immature fanhood hubris.

That's all. Maybe you got something out of this? maybe not... whatever.
I'm with you on this. I've been a Chiefs fan for more than 40 years, but since living in the Bay Area during the Montana years I have also been a 49ers fan. I do the same as you, watch the early Chiefs game every week, then watch the late 49ers game. I'll always be a Chiefs fan first, but I also like the 49ers. And there is nothing wrong with that at all.

What about the douches that have adopted the QB of another team because they hate the QB of their own team? That is a special kind of douchebag.

I'm assuming you are referring to Geno. Could you link me to someone on a Jets forum from here talking up Geno? If not GTFO.

No, I'm referring to you and your douchebag friends that are obsessed with Geno Smith, the QB of another team, because you hate the QB of your own team. That is pretty douchebaggy.

Who has done that?

Two people? Clay and SDH.

Watching his progression and occasionally posting about him (especially since we're just barely six months removed from the decision between that QB and our current one) is not the same as "adopting" him.

That's just ****ing stupid. This was a MAJOR decision that this franchise made by choosing Alex Smith over Geno Smith. To follow Geno and see what this franchise MIGHT have been is interesting and relevant(Because nobody ever bitches about the Blackledge pick). Just as following the career paths of Fisher and Joekel to see if we made the right choice between the top 2 RT on the board. Sorry about your butt hurt if we aren't all blind homers that swallow red and gold jizz because the team asked us to. Some of us like to evaluate the decisions made by the franchise and hold feet to the fire if they are wrong or praise them if they are correct. Nobody is wearing a Geno shirt on Sundays.

Its all good man. I learned after having my life ripped apart for the boards enjoyment, not to take anything too seriously on this board. Its all in good fun. What better way to spend a Wednesday then arguing over some bullshit that none of us have control over.

Much better than talking politics....

Bandwagoners are generally thought of as people who become fans of a winning team because they are winning.

I'm pretty sure that when I started rooting for KC because of Alex, they were ranked the WORST team in the NFL.

You might be able to accuse me of being unfaithful to the 9ers...but Bandwagoner? Seems to me that I'm doing the exact opposite of that definition. Same would be true for "fairweathered fan" since the 9ers were a superbowl team when I started rooting for KC too.

Denver rookie QB John Elway, on Jack Lambert, after Lambert and the Steelers knocked Elway out of his first game as a pro (1983).
