The end is the best part. It was better on the big screen.

Alright. I was trying to do other things during the movie. Let me see if I got this straight.
Spoiler!
It was a decent human behavior piece. And I must admit that the chick they went back for is epic hotness.

and I don't know about #2. I don't know if they said. I liked the movie, although I have to say I fast forwarded about the first 20 minutes. I didn't see the need for all the set up. |

I just watched the last 45 minutes of Quarantine. That was pretty damn intense.

Reign of Assassins - 8/10. John Woo's return to Wu Xia after flirting with wire-fu/CGI in Red Cliff. I must say, this was some of the best chinese fantasy action I've ever seen. The camera-work keeps the angles tight so it doesn't look overly fake. If Ip Man was a return to grounded, hand-to-hand kung-fu classics, then this is the callback to the Shaw Bros sword epics in the 70's and 80's. Easily one of the best martial arts movies in the past 15 years.
Also, Michelle Yeoh still kicks ass and she's gotta be nearing to 50. |

I haven't been able to come to an official conclusion. I have several thoughts in no particular order:
Loved 7/8s of the movie, but it dipped for 10 minutes, 20 minutes before credits. That 1/8th really dipped. It made me constantly think it's finishing weak after a VERY STRONG beginning and middle. The kid summarizes the dip a little bit when he says "I know what you're thinking...kid comes and learns all and leaves cured". I can't decide if them knowing that weakness made up for the lameness I felt during that dip. Under Pressure has a new context for me. The subject matter was dealt with perfectly. In fact, that may be the strongest point of the whole movie. It was perfect. I enjoyed every time we went into his mind, especially the cities. Though, I wish he would have drawn other things. The supporting characters really helped the movie soar. I do think the Dr. could have had some more time. Jeremy Davies was awesome considering there were plenty of times he blurred the line between patient and worker. Zack Galifinakis was, unsurprisingly, really good. I don't think many people realize his range. And the movie - perhaps intentionally, perhaps unintentionally - really made me think the ending was going to be different. I wanted the movie to be longer. It definitely could have if you start to build his creative side a little stronger and more diverse. More scene time with his crush and the hospital girl would have given the culmination a tad more umph, but that's a minor quibble. In sum, I liked it a lot but I'm not sure I LOVED it. I did, however, love how they handled the subject matter.

Half watched Zombieland while playing Civilization 5, and thought it was great entertainment.
