If they really consider him a RB then i assume that means that Cyrus Gray, Joe McKnight and Charcandrick West are gone.

FB - Sherman
RB - Charles,Davis,Thomas

If they don't really consider him a RB then stop wasting reps on a position he is not going to play and start having him learn WR.

either way, playing him at RB seems like a waste of time to me

He's going to be an all around playmaker. I don't really see the issues. Some plays he'll be in at RB, and some plays he'll be in at WR. That maximizes the number of plays he's in. That's a good thing.

and when he's in for those plays at RB, who is he taking the touches away from?

Jamaal Charles or Knile Davis?

if Charles and Davis get hurt again, is 174lb Thomas ready to carry the load?

because it's a waste of practice reps and/or a roster spot

it was stupid to waste time on McCluster at RB and it's stupid to do it with Thomas

It's also wasted time that Thomas should be using to learn the WR position

Let's wait and see how he's used during the season. He's going to be moved around. They did it already during the pre season game. This isn't an issue as it stands right now. Mountains outta molehills.

Why is he necessarily taking touches away from someone? Different situations and different personnel groupings.

I just don't see why you're so angry at this. Why you have a player as dynamic as he is and can make the plays you can make, you should come up with ways to get him on the field as much as possible. Charles will still get his carries and catches. Knile will still get his carries. And Thomas can come in when needed and hopefully make a big play. Why limit him?

But it makes so much sense guys Charles is the best back therefore he should be getting all the touches any touches for anybody else is a waste of time.

whatever, i'm done

I had the same argument about McCluster at RB and nobody around here understood. Then when McCluster produced at WR they simply forgot the argument.

Same thing about using Eric Berry at strong safety. People just didn't understand why i cared about one safety position vs the other.

people care more about arguing than understanding a ****ing point.

looking at this way, if Thomas ever has a RB carry for a 1st down you can bump this thread back up and jack off to it.

It's not that we don't understand it's that we don't give a **** about something so insignificant in the grand scheme of this team. Nonetheless at THIS stage of the season. Laz is on the rag guys. Let's give him a week.

Without seeing what's going on at practice, I think it's hard to gauge how many reps he really is getting at RB, and what they're actually doing with him when he's on the field. It's just a guess but I think he's probably all over the place in the formation, with a 'focus' (if there really is one) at lining him up in the backfield in order to try to get him on the field and contributing as quickly as possible. I would imagine the hope is to eventually try to use him in a similar fashion to DeSean Jackson.
