When the guy who played Miles in season 1 of 24 is your film's leading man then you know you've got some problems.

Killer inside me
Wicked, nasty....I mean dirty, nasty, wicked.... Casey Affleck did a great job....and did I mention Jessica Alba 96% nude???!! If you saw "Before the devil knows your dead".....you'll know what I mean about the dirty/grimy feeling you get watching a film full of characters that are nasty and without morals... Enjoyed it...based upon the same writings that brought about "the grifters"....if that puts it in perspective!

Something about the fact that Skyline is PG 13 just tells me it's going to be sucky.

I don't think there are any similarities between Let the Right One In and Twilight other than both involve vampires.

So, I've recently watched MacGruber and Predators.
Both were kind of what I expected. I found the latter to be enjoyable popcorn fare, with some solid frags. Along similar lines, I'm eagerly anticipating Faster in three weeks.

They're both contemporary dramas about a social outcast student befriending a vampire, and the complications that come with that friendship. That puts them in a small enough category of movies that I think a comparison is valid enough.

Twilight is steeped in vampire mythology (and werewolves, too), and includes themes of teenage angst/love along with (Mormon) undertones about overcoming one's nature and chastity. Let the Right One In has none of that. Yes, both movies have students befriending vampires, but the complications you mention are nothing alike.

Being more "adult" because of increased blood/violence and having the too-often assumed sophistication stamp of approval due to its foreign place of birth isn't going to cut it for making a movie great or vastly better than the teenage bloodless, Hollywood blockbuster. |

I actually kind of enjoyed The Karate Kid, the new one. Completely unbelievable though.

Now that I know of someone who has seen this thing... I got a question... How come it's called The Karate Kid, but in the previews, Jackie Chan keeps teaching the kid Kung Fu? Set the record straight for me. |

I just got Kick Ass in the mail from Amazon.
It was only $13 w/ free shipping for the Blu-Ray. Considering I almost spent $25 on this plus tax at Best Buy, thats a good price. I'm going to watch it in between the TCU game and SDSU game. Have never seen it. |
