1 win, regardless of round, is more than Dick accomplished.

I disagree. All that matters to me is how deep you go in the playoffs. If you can dominate in the regular season and skip the first round altogether the result is the same.

That's an unusual viewpoint. Very unusual. 0-1 isn't "deep in the playoffs". "Deep in the playoffs" is a championship game.

1 and out is not deep in the playoffs.

No. The reason that the Chiefs are in the playoffs is because they beat Jacksonville. Without the win over the Jags, the Chiefs would not have made the playoffs.

That's what I was gonna say. DV didn't win a game to get to the Div. round, a bye doesn't count as a win. As for last year, if the Bungles didn't rest their starters we could have easily been 9-7.

No, it's equal. Both scenarios result in the Chiefs falling one game short of the AFC Championship game. A bye is just a free win. The result is the exact same.

It is funny to see people argue the same point from so many different angles...

yes the Chiefs had to win, I am not discounting any of it. We are in the playoffs and that is all that matters....

I hope we run to the Championship game... Wont hurt my feelings or pocketbook any.

we're in the playoffs because the ghost of lamar hunt pushed a cinci field goal right, and then helped guide nedny's kick through the up rights. we have fate on our side this year. now we get our chance to get even with the colts for 95 and 03. FAQ peyton!!!!

I guess I basically already do. Wins, byes, whatever gets you one round closer to the promised land. The playoffs are designed to reward exceptional regular season teams by automatically advancing to round 2.

Aside from it being a more "fun" for me as a fan to see a wild card win than it is to sit through a bye week, I really don't see the difference.
