Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation
I didn't see a thread for it, and it opens Friday.
I really enjoyed 4. I thought they did a nice job of retooling things to keep it entertaining with some good laughs and a pretty good plot that had very good set action pieces. Anyway, I just saw this. You'll see in the trailer a part where Cruise is holding onto the side of a plane taking off. You figure it is just a green screen effect done in post production. Nope. I'll hand it to Cruise on this one. It takes balls to hang onto the side of an airplane taking off as it climbs and is going 185+ mph. https://youtu.be/gOW_azQbOjw https://youtu.be/F-qBD17wwrQ http://www.cnn.com/2015/07/25/entert...ise/index.html

Disagree. Barely. Bond w/Craig are good but the Bourne movies are my fave. I even like the Jeremy Renner Bourne.

I also liked Renner's Bourne. Bourne loses points for me based on the fact that the films original trilogy are all so similar though. Trying to remember individual aspects of each of the Bourne's is hard to do. I haven't seen them in years and now they've all melded together in my mind. Craig's Bonds are just so different in plot and style. |

The bond franchise gets ****ed because of pierces late stuff, but Goldeneye was the titts, mainly because of the video game too. |

The Brosban Bonds, on top of being bad films, are extremely dated. It's not a good combination.

What the hell? What's with the hate on Brosnan Bonds?
He revitalized the franchise. It was left for dead for 6 years before he came along. They were all big hits

Christopher Lee thought Pierce was the best Bond FWIW.

Didn't he die recently?
Coincidence? I think not.

I like all of them except the last one not so much. The Ice House and invisible car thing jumped the shark.

They could have shot the Bond franchise in the head immediately after that line and I wouldn't have cared. The combination of Denise Richards and the uncharacterstically...I dunno....gross interaction between those two was enough to ruin the fact that Sophie Marceau was in the movie. That movie was complete garbage. It made XXX look artfully done by comparison.

I've always enjoyed the Mission Impossible movies, so I'm pretty excited to see this one.

OK, which theme song is more iconic: Bond's or MI?
