Late night bullshit: Chiefs needs, aside from QB.

I love how Pioli looked at the Chiefs performance in last year's playoff game, and he makes priority #A1 to upgrade the WR position.

Added Breaston. Drafted Baldwin. Picked Colbert off the scrap heap.

I think when the season wraps up this year, Pioli's going to look over this team and decide that it needs to have its passrush revamped to help out Hali much like he helped out Bowe.

The problem with this, of course, is that it's muuuuuch harder to rush the passer than it is to run a route and receive passes. As a result, there's really no OLB on the scene in 2012 that are working picking up through free agency. OLB will need to be a very early pick for the Chiefs.

Defensive line will need to be upgraded as well. Dorsey will be in his contract year, and Pioli has no loyalty to him because he was an Edwards pick. It's possible that Allen Bailey is that guy, but the Chiefs need to fortify the position anyway because holding onto Wallace Gilberry will be very difficult. It also isn't clear that Bailey can do much to rush the passer. Dorsey and Jackson can't either, so a DE specialized in applying pressure, maybe?

NT is more of a concern for me than it is for the Chiefs, who may be willing to resign both Gregg and Amon Gordon. But I'd like to see a stud, especially with how well Chapman played tonight for Alabama.

Depth across our secondary should be a concern. The way the league is changing, a team cannot survive without a talented and deep secondary. Resigning Carr must happen, and Berry must recover from his injury. But we need more CB and especially S help.

Offensive line is going to look pretty set, so long as we find a new right tackle: [new RT] [Asamoah] [Hudson] [Lilja] [Albert]. Depth at tackle will also be needed, and other than Darryl Harris, we have no depth along the interior.

We could use another receiving TE option, and a big back at RB, but we all know this.

Here's where I rank our needs:

1. OLB
2. RT
3. RB
4. TE
5. DE
6. S
7. OT

Houston/Studebaker get all the reps on the one side.

Sheffield is Hali's backup, and Hali plays every down because we have no passrushers.

I haven't paid attention to many TEs in this draft class. But I wouldn't mind taking a top guy even in the first round if we draft late enough and are going to say "**** it" to the QB position. Moeaki's good, but so many teams are running these two-headed monster TE spots, either alternating or running double sets.

At the very least, our new guy would solidify the position as a strength, even in the case that Moaeki gets injured again. Pope could be our blocker (which he does very well) and Jake O'Connell could finally GTFO.

Well, yeah, but there's no reason they can't put Sheffield out there opposite Hali.

Maybe he's in the doghouse or secretly hurt.

Really? A first on a TE?

Ugh. I'd rather wait until something like the 3rd round. My personal favorite this year is a lighter, Jimmy Graham-esque tight end out of Georgia. Orson Charles. Really fast and great hands.

Not very big, though. 6'3", 230 lbs.

McCluster is Dante Hall with no route-running ability and not even half the nifty moves in his toolbox. He's ****ing worthless.

There's no Dick Vermeil on this team to nurture the talent out of him. Also, I'm sick of giving this turd touches when they could be spent on one of our talented WRs or Jackie Battle.

And the dumbass fumbles, too. He's a piece of shit and I hate him. I want him off this team.

I fear we're seeing the Dallas Clark effect with him.

He has a phenomenal chemistry with Luck. I fear he might not do much without him. If I drafted Luck, I'd certainly take a hard look at Fleener for that reason alone atop the 3rd.

It's possible. But very hard to tell if that's the case. I can only base off of what I've seen him do. And I've been following Luck since the end of the freshman year. And Fleener just always stands out. And he's a good blocker too. I'd spend a 2nd round pick on him.

McCluster was only averaging 5 YPC because he got the ball on draws in passing situations.

He has 27 carries for 72 yards in the last month.

Rewatching the SD game.

Justin Houston forced a holding penalty on Clary with 1:49 to go in the 3rd when the Chargers are in the red zone.

Noted that for Claythan.

You know when you have extended family over and are doing a big cookout-type thing at the house? You try to plan out the meal so that everybody will eat something.

But there's always your sister Julie who has the 6-year old turd who refuses to eat anything but chicken nuggets. So you say, "we'll plan something special for him." And yeah, it doesn't take much, but it's still annoying.

Dexter McCluster is that 6-year old. Because he's on the team, this coaching staff feels obligated to give him touches. So they create weird stupid plays for him that never work and always end up sucking. And yeah, they only happen a few times a game, but those failure plays always seem to squash any kind of momentum we built up. We'll get a chain of first downs and then we'll do a McCluster stretch play that will ****ing suck. And then we end up punting two plays later.

Ok. I'll make a prediction that this week Justin Houston gets his first sack. He shouldn't have a problem if they have him on the RT most of the game.

I can't really hate on Houston. He sucked bad enough this year to get Studebaker back on the field, and Studebaker saved the season.
