You don't want him! ... Shockey is going to turn 31 this season. His productive years are behind him. Besides, Shockey is very injury prone.

He’s a very old 31. I also imagine he thinks he’s a Gonzalez type TE and really won’t take to being a "blocker." /Giants fan.

I don’t suppose the Jets asked Jeremy if he WANTED to be a blocking tight end…. I am sure he is thrilled about that.

A terrific talent that underachieved due to a style of play that meant he was never healthy combined with a “me first” attitude. Every time I think of him gesturing that Eli needed to throw him the ball, it makes me sick. Plus his antics with Reese and the Giants prior to his release.

The Giants came together and won a Championship AFTER we got rid of his antics, Coughlin was right, the best place for him was to leave him pouting in that luxury box far from the team. /Giants fan

As a Giant, Shockey was a “me first” guy…… He whined about being asked to block. He gyrated to everyone every time he thought he was open and Eli should have thrown the ball. then, on the way out the door, it became the “Jeremy Shockey show” as he relentlessly kicked the Giants and Reese in the nuts until they finally had to move him.

Sorry. Jeremy Shockey wore out his welcome here long ago. We won a Championship without him, and after he left, it allowed Eli to concentrate instead of worrying about how to placate his disgruntled TE. Coughlin made the right move not allowing him to be on the sideline and “contaminate” the rest of the team as they rose up and won a title. /Giants fan

but it wasn’t like his play was amazing. And after a 0 TD 2008 he’s lucky NO held onto him. He also proved that being a hothead has nothing to do with competitiveness.

One of the most overrated players of all time. A total jerk on and off the field. I'm surprised he lasted 3 years with the Saints. The Jets will probably pick him up as he seems to be Rex's kind of player. /Giants fan.

After getting a personal foul, or unsportsmanlike conduct penalty, he would later say, "hey, that's the way I play. " No, that's the way you BEHAVE. The way you play, is what you do after the snap, & before the whistle.

Selfish, egotistical. And also, by the way, I'm 60 yrs old, and I can't remember ANY rookie, in NY, who got a bigger build-up from the NY press than Shockey. Not Ewing, not Jeter, ..nobody, except maybe Namath. Maybe. /Giants fan
