Is this the worst Chiefs season ever?

At least in recent memory...I'm not old enough to remember the seasons of the 70's and 80's.

And it may be too early to tell since there's almost 2/3 of the season left to play.

But I can't remember a Chiefs season where they come into the season with such high hopes with the return of playmakers that had season ending injuries in 2011 and what seemed to be at the time a more stable coaching staff.

But then to completely shit the bed in epic proportions.

Getting blown out in just about every game we've played, having not led in a game at any point in the season, and on pace to smash the NFL record for most committed turnovers in a single season.

I don't think I've ever had so much hope for a team going into a season and for it to completely backfire. I mean I'm not sure it can get any worse at this point, and may be the reason why I didn't really care at all about the game today.

Maybe it's just getting to that point where the Chiefs are making me not care anymore.

Bullshit.

Justin Houston has a been a beast that continues to improve. Hali isn't quite where he was last year, probably due to his suspension. But there is plenty of talent on this team and more than enough for a winning record.

It's all about schemes and coaching, two things that the Chiefs are sorely lacking. A great coach would have this team more competitive and it would have a winning record.

Of course, none of that means jackshit until they get a real QB but IF they get a QB and a competent coaching staff, this team will compete next year.

Look no further than the Miami Dolphins as proof. And their GM is a ****ing bozo as well.

I think analyzing most player performances with the organization in a state of turmoil is pointless. Players play up and down based on the schemes, motivation, hope, and talent around them. They've all given up at this point. Except for brief moments, they're mailing it in and cashing checks which is problematic in and of itself.

I saw players all over the place quitting on plays today. If they had a QB and a coach, they'd be fine. But for now, let's just stay the course plz

QBs all suck.

Baldwin, McCluster are not good.

Charles and Bowe is really all they got on offense.

Also, we have absolutely no one scary at kick or punt returner. The last good kick returner we had was Jamaal Charles.

This is probably an 8-8 team with good QB play. We've gotten league-worst QB play.

Well prior to today the most the Bucs had beaten a team by since 2010 was 6 points.

We have become that team. Worst team in the league. Too bad this isn't last year, where you have your pick of Luck or Griffin...

It's scheme. Look around the league: Outside of a few teams that invested first round picks (and got them right, I might add), most defensive lines are pedestrian. While I think there's room for improvement, it won't take much with the right scheme to turn around the defensive line.

IMO, Belcher is as big a liability as Dorsey or Jackson.

Allen's a rookie and Asamoah is still young. Both are learning. Asamoah was hampered by Pioli's decision to sit him for his rookie season.

The NFL is 90% confidence and 10% ability.

This is silly. McCluster is fine. Should he be the focal point? Absolutely NOT. As a 4th option, yes.

As for Baldwin, he's definitely lived up to his pre-draft hype. He needs some serious life lessons and some serious coaching up. The talent is there, the body and speed are there, the focus isn't.

I'm disappointed but I'm not passing judgement just yet.

That's because the QB sucks. There's no way that Steve Breaston just fell off the planet Earth in one off-season. The receiving corp SHOULD be Top Ten. It's all on the QB.

I don't consider this to be a top-line issue. If the Chiefs had a QB, proper coaching and schemes, an adequate returner would do. The problem is, when everyone's sucking, everything is under the microscope.

Nah, no way. Regardless of opponents, this team with a good QB would be 3-2 now at worst and if it were a young QB (Griffin, Luck, Tannehill), it would be an ascending 3-2.

The current state of the Chiefs suckiness falls on the shoulders of one man:

Scott Pioli.

1 for 26 last week.

McCluster is "fine" I guess, if you think marginal No. 4 WRs playing the slot and making absolutely ZERO big plays is "fine."

Guys like Dex aren't drafted in the 2nd...they're drafted in the 6th.

These guys are not very good.

He's not even on the field anymore.

Pioli.

He'd rather have his marginal 5-7 draft bust and Mike Williams Part II out there.

Breaston is better than both...but he's a Haley guy.

This might be the worst Chiefs team I've ever seen (thus far). Even the Thigpen-led squad made games competitive while managing to find great ways to lose games (IIRC, that team lost 3 or 4 games by less than 3 points) . This team, good grief, is just awful in all aspects. I mean, I know it's been repeated incessantly here, but they have not had a lead at any point in any game during regulation? That's some serious awfulness right there. What do we have, 20+ turnovers? That has to be some kind of record.

What is so amazing is the dumpster fires that continue to pop up around this team in the wake of the on-field suckage...Crennel saying all the wrong things, Winston waving his own lit farts in the fans direction, stories surfacing about a contract extension for arguably the worst GM in the NFL, then subsequently suppressing them.

This team is a complete and utter debacle from the top right on down to the custodians.

Worst team? Do we consider the head coach, GM, and owner as part of the "team"? If so, then f*** and yes.

I'd say fifth, like Jacquizz Rogers. But I've acknowledged on several occasions that Pioli ****ed up the 2010 second round.

He's a better player than Arenas.
