Bubba - From the Indianapolis Star:
"Oh, sure, Knight's players have one of the highest graduation rates," From the San Francisco Examiner: "This includes the men's basketball program which has a very high graduation rate" The Louisville Courier Journal & Times: "citing his impressive graduation rate and" From the Foundation for Academic Standards: "One thing that can be said in defense of Knight is that his players have had high graduation rates" Now whom should I believe, Bubba or three national newspapers and one of the most strict evaluators of secondary education in the country. |

Michael,
Maybe it was Bubbaz, or ... I don't know, too many posts, not enough time, aaaahh... Hey, moderators! How about a "head-bursting" smiley? [This message has been edited by orange (edited 09-11-2000).] |

Bubba - Wrong already. Didn't Roy have Paris walk off last year? And you had a junior leave a year earlier for the pros....
Besides I don't remember one player stating they would leave the program last summer when Roy was thinking about leaving... I tell you what, Have Roy eeeck out ONE singular championship from his overbeefed McDonald boys and then we can compare the two. Until then comparing Roy Williams to BK is like comparing Terry Allen to Bill Parcells. |

Bubba - Again, find me 24 students who have left the program over the almost 30 year tenure of Knight's program. I challenge you....
Of course, I expect another excuse. |

Dont know who "Paris" is that walked off. But the kid who was thinking about going back home did so because his brother was killed and he was thinking about transferring to Depaul to be with his family.
I knew if I pushed long enough it would come down to championships...which is why IU has put up with Bobby for so long. By the way, I think Roy's record against Bobby is pretty good. You still havent answered my question though. |

No prob. Just wanted it made clear that Knight is a coward and a bully, but I have no idea how many of his players have left. Nor do I care. Sure wish I would have taken September in the pool. |

Dennis Miller just chimed in that he's glad Knight was fired. All you Knightbashers are in good company now....

Knight is an excellent disciplinarian who could not or would not control his own temper. Sooner or later it would lead to his demise...<BR>

Bubba - No, I would not state he is a bully, that is plain stupid. I have already stated that he deserved to be fired as he broke his agreement per his own words.
However, I am still awaiting your 24 players. BTW - it doesn't matter if one single player left or what his reason was, that means that Williams did not graduate 100%. Another skewed fact.... I hope you don't mind if I take the word of documented distributors of news over yours in the future. |

Wolfman, as I stated before, the kid was thinking about returning home and did not walk off the team. I believe he is still enrolled at KU, thus keeping 100% grad rate intact. Is Bobby related to you in some way, you seem to be taking this very personal.

Orange - BTW, yes Knight has received support from Steve Alford, both before and after their meeting last year..... In fact, Alford went just shy of calling Ricky Calloway a liar in defense of Knight....
More skewing for the hype. |
