Brett Favre is a douchebag.......

"I was optimistic going into this game, I really was," Favre said. "Maybe I was the only one, but I really felt like we could surprise these guys. Obviously, that was not the case."

Seriously though, could he be a bigger douchebag?

I have no idea why the media loves this guy so much. He threw Javon Walker under the bus last off season, saying he was basically dumb and hurting the team by holding out. He blew that playoff game 3 years ago agaisnt the Eagles, but oh that was just Bret trying to win?? He holds the Packers hostage this offseason, doing phoney press confrences where all he does is say what he thinks the front office should do, also add to his on again off again "will he retire"talk.

If this was TO, Chad Johnson, Steve Smith, ect ect acting in this way, he would be such a deamon to the media. But somehow because it is Brett Favre, it is just Bret being competitive, and Brett's love for the game. Gimme a break, it has always been about Brett's love for Brett.

I have to agree with everyone else here. There is nothing wrong with what he said. It sounds like you have a problem with Favre and you twist things that he says into negative remarks.

I saw his comment on TV and he came across that way but if you wanna say he didn't mean that..ok. By the way I'm not playing the race card I was just showing someone elses opinion I pointed that out before posting it........

So Brett Favre has been in the league long enough that is is ok for him to walk off the field early and not shake hands with anyone and in general act like an ass? Because that is what he was doing yesterday.....

His team sucks. Bad. Saying that he thought he was the only person who was optimistic is the same as saying "I might be the only one, but I think the Packers could make the playoffs". I think he was talking in a more global sense.... not that he was the only one that had faith on the team, but that he might be the only person in the NFL -- players, fans, vendors -- that think the Packers could have gone 1-0. It's not "not giving a shit", it's believing.

Favre may not be at the top of his game anymore, but you couldn't be any more of an inverted rectum with this thread.

Favre is about the only player in the NFL with more consecutive games than Will Shields. He's taken an absolutel beating and has played on...with broken bones, bruises and through the death of his father, hurricanes taking his family home.

If you expose your arse with cheeks spread in a prison shower, don't be surprised when it gets used as a holster.

To put it into words you might be able to cypher.....

Whoever said that has an issue with race.

Grbac is white and he was thrown under the bus for his comments.
Ryan Leaf is white and he was thrown under the bus for his comments.

This has nothing to do with race.

Absolutely. He has earned that right through years of sustained excellence, playing through pain and bad injuries, superhuman performances, SB victories, coupled with being human enough to make an addiction and his recovery public. We've watched the guy lose a father, a brother-in-law, a house. We've seen him hold his pain as his wife battled breast cancer.
All of this while playing for the same team, the same city. All of this while remaining humble, never making it about "me".

Is the concept of respecting those elders who have earned it so foreign to you?
