Q: You talked about down the road the possibility of irreversible damage, have you given any though about retirement?

GREEN: “No, I have not. I am a very positive person and try to take the best. I don’t even want to answer that one, because the people that have brought it up, right now that’s not in my plans, that’s not the plans that I have been told and with the support of my wife and kids, they know this is what I do and what I love doing. As long as I am honest with them and know that I’m not going to put my next 50-60 years in jeopardy then they are all for me in coming back. As far as ending my career, that’s definitely not in the conversation.”

I take this at face value. I guess anyone could say that he's just fooling himself, and can't admit that he's through, but then isn't that more speculation? Where I can say, has Trent thought about retiring? No, he hasn't. Case closed.

That being the key statement...Convincing a wife that just saw you get your head splattered and put in the hospital that you aren't jeopardizing your future will be a very tough sell. It will take multiple doctors willing to say that he is 100% with no ill-effects for that to get sold....Probably not many MD's willing to say that especially this year given they will always heavily side with caution for the patients sake and for the CYA when it comes to malpractice suits.

TG might end up on the PUP for this very reason. I think he is done for the year at the very least.

But he has shocked everyone before and came back to perform at a high level???

If he comes back from this-I will be amazed. That was the worst hit I have ever seen in person.

Nevermind the "patient confidentiality act".
Even if you have that information, you could get your mom fired.

That is absurd considering all the people in that office-plus the fact there has been tons of reports on his condition since it happened-where did all that info come from??

Green: that’s not the plans that I have been told

I think this is also key. He must have been told, I assume by doctors, that this is not career threatening.

I'm sure it is not once fully healed which nobody including the doctors know how long it will take, could be a couple weeks or could be several months...If he were 28, retirement would be a non-issue but given his age could make it a different story. Coming back to play another 6 to 8 years versus his case of fighting to come back for what is likely 2 or less.

But I have no doubt he would like to come back and have some playoff success to put on his resume.

Some QB's are back in a week after a concussion-hell Brett Favre went back in and threw a TD to win the game. TG's hit was much worse-I will be shocked if he comes back this year.

Really? You would be shocked if he comes back? See, I would be shocked if he doesn't come back. Now, we both saw the same hit and yet we come to opposite conclusions.
