Zodiac was impressive, I gave it a 9 out of 10 on IMDB website, however it did take awhile for me to adjust to sitting in a theater again since the last time was 1999. Also, it was a weekday afternoon and there was only 3 people in the theater besides my wife and me. I believe everybody was at Wild Hogs or 300, which is ashame. Zodiac had a budget of something like $70 million and director David Fincher, who had made the excellent films Se7en, Fight Club and Panic Room, but I think it only took in about $35 million. Hopefully they'll make money or at least break even with the DVD sales, the length of the film does make it ideal for watching at home. Originally I gave it a 9 out of 10 but after rewatching it on DVD in the luxury of my own home this week, I went back and changed it to a 10 on IMDB. I thought about the only way to make it a better film would be to shorten it, but when I started to think what could be edited out, I could only think of one scene. When Jake visits Downey on the houseboat later in the film, and that would only take out maybe 3 or 4 minutes. It's a great film, it is so intricate and detailed and is a period piece with music to match, it's the kind of film you can rewatch several times without getting tired. Sort of like Chinatown for me, but this is only the 60's and 70's but still dated enough and even knowing the story it keeps your attention. |

Just watched this last night. Wow. I was completely blown away. Brilliant, mezmerizing....
This thing better be up for some Awards at the end of the year or the Oscars are a complete joke. (which they truly have been for several years) David Fincher is the man. Absolutely brilliant. Loved all the great ensemble character work in this as well. No "big name" actors, but Downey, Gylenhall, Ruffalo, Edwards, Koteas....all of them simply great, no matter how big or small the part was.

Great movie. I still don't know exactly who the Zodiac was, though.
I went to a Zodiac website and, apparently, there are still some ciphers that have yet to be solved. FAX |

Yeah, it was awesome.
At the end they put up the writing before the credits started. Do I need glasses? |

It was boring and uneventful, yet I couldn't turn it off. I did eventually just fast forward throught the last 20-30 minutes of it.
