My mid-east rant

This rant is on everyone coming to the US from the mid-east, over the last two years I have had to call on, an avg. of 5 customers a month who were born somewhere in the mid-east.

With out fail every sales call goes the same way; they want my equipment and services for free and don’t want to sign a contract.

They do not keep their word after an agreement is reached nor do they want to accept the terms of the contract they have reluctantly signed.

I had one guy want to call off a deal over a measly $24 over a two year contract……I pointed out to him he was pissing and moaning over a couple of pennies a day, didn’t care had to have that discount.

Worked out a great deal on 7 Shell stations, I gave them special pricing if they gave me all 7 Shell stations.

We put the system in the first one, the screwed me on the other 6.

Now I did get a good laugh at the tribe who screwed me on the Shell Stations, the Parvin and 29/35 Station got robbed shortly after the free system was put in place.

A couple of amateur thief’s backed a pick up through the store front in an attempt at stealing an ATM, fortunately for the owners the chain broke…..unfortunately the free security alarm did not trip and the video was of such poor quality it was worthless.

To make it even funnier, I called them a couple of days latter and asked if they were ready to put in a good system…..no they informed me the guy who put in the piece of crap was going to fix it for free……had to tell them free crap is still crap.

Not to further the fine show of xenophobia, but I've noticed a steady increase in the ME population here in Overland Park.

I'm thinking Sprint customer service is trying to appear more 'domestic'.

The second part was a joke.

The first part was serious however. Seems to be an influx of middle easterners here, at least in my apartment complex.

No xenophobia at all, I just know what I am in for every time I pick up a lead with certain names on it.......Oh and they tell me they are moving to Overland Park because no crime exists in Overland Park.

The reason for this is that over in their part of the world, they screw Americans (and other foreigners) all the time. At the market in Dubai, where my parents lived for years right after they got married, they had three prices - one for the arabs, one for the europeans, one for the americans.

They are used to getting the best of Americans. When they move over here, it doesn't work that way, and it is the equivalent of culture shock.

They are not necessarily pieces of shit. They're just learning to adapt.

Crime rate is pretty good here.

Wealthy area, as well, in per capita terms.

(I'm doing my best to keep the per capita under control)
