So I started playing it last night again.
Why the hell would any team in their right mind trade a 2009 2nd round pick for Adrian Jones? Well....the Seahawks did. I got pissed after 45 minutes though because I was simming until the draft and my PS3 locked up. So a question for everyone. Well actually two. 1. When you start a new career...do you create your own coach or do you go with an existing one? 2. Do you start off in the offseason or do you start in preseason? |

here's my question, and i suppose it's directed at anyone playing on "last gen"...is the game for PS2 still as cool as the one for next gen? all the same in depth stuff or just a retred from last year? thanks.

the ps2 version was a pain in the ass. a LOT of lag time, the game engine didn't work as well (not that this one is perfect)--I had it and put over 100 hours into it (mostly simmed games, etc), but it was a pain in the ass.

one of these days I'll upload the potentials for all of the draft classes I've gone through--I take the time to get all potentials for every player in the draft classes, I'm like five drafts in. started with the 'jack english/dane marrow' draft, etc. |

the next year, I turned the first round pick that I acquired into dane marrow, who's been my QB through two super bowls in three years. his potential is 97 (in 'field general' strategy for QBs), he's awesome. |

I've honestly lost all interest in every other game right now, for some reason (including the ones I haven't played yet), so I'm getting this from Gamefly.

I almost exclusively avoid free agency. for the most part, EVERYBODY is overpaid--I build everything through the draft (which is why I compiled all of the potentials), and when a guy is up for a second contract, 80% of the time he gets traded for draft picks. rinse/repeat. no kidding, I've literally had roughly 20 draft picks a year just by working the trades. trade down, trade down, your best values come in the last ten picks of the first round.

I probably should have been paying attention before I went after a couple of RFAs in free agency and I lost #5 and #17...
No worries, my draft was still super-productive after some wheeling and dealing. Then I got a 2009 first rounder from Tampa in exchange for Gonzo, and dumped Nap Harris off on somebody for a THIRD rounder after much squabbling. Suckers.
