Your idea of dominant is not the same as what Pioli looks for in dominant d-linemen.

No, Jackson is not constantly in the backfield making plays. But he plays the gaps, is strong at the point of attack, stacks and sheds, doesn't quit on plays, and occupies blockers so the back 7 can make plays. That is what Pioli wants in a DE.
