However, the John Mackey Award went to USC's Fred Davis in 2007.

Hes better than O'Connell so of course bring him in! Sad thing is that we would end up keeping O'Connell and cutting Cottam for some strange reason.

Washington is busy wasting him because they thought it was great to use a 2nd round pick on a TE when they had Chris Cooley, brilliance.

All-american TE in college? Nah...wouldn't think twice about it

Blocking is obviously not his strength, but he can catch the ball better than any of our TEs and he usually gets good YAC.

The context of the last 3 pages of posts has been what he did in college and whether, based on that (since he obviously didn't do much w/the Browns), we should give him a look. Do you really think we shouldn't?

I think you don't know if he is good at YAC in the nfl because he was dragging College kids around.

I say bring him in and put O'Connell on the practice squad. That Rucker didn't do much in his first season is not a shock, he tore his meniscus in the preseason and had to have arthroscopic surgery and didn't see any gametime until week 12. Plus he was a rookie and very seldom does a rookie do much, even if they are healthy.

We have too much inexperience on our roster right now as it is, but he has to be better than O'Connell. I think O'Connell has promise, but isn't ready to be on the field yet. The game is too big for him and Lawrence right now, both could be on the practice squad and neither would get signed away.

Probably not. All the other message boards are probably clogged with threads screaming for Pollard to be signed.

He's basing on what he did in college. FWIW, Kellen Winslow also didn't do shit with the Browns either.
