I would hardly be surprised if I may have missed some things by not having been around the Hollywood acting environment but it was still great. I figured the ratings were terrible because it was a small show on STARZ that didn't have all that much marketing appeal.

Oh, I wasn't implying that all of the viewers weren't hip to those moments, but that it probably turned off many of the viewers and made them disinterested. I think it's a funny, witty show but it's certainly not a "Hollywood" show like Entourage.

The show had absolutely brutally awful ratings, which is why it was canceled.

No offense intended.

Yeah I agree with your take there. The opposite of Entourage tone of the show was definitely a bit dark at times. I was not at all surprised it was canceled and am just happy it made it to the second season.

While I was surprised and pleased to see Kyle Chandler and Connie Britton get nominations for FNL, the list as a whole is atrocious. As usual, the Emmy nominations make an embarrassment of the entire medium.

Really?

There are some surprising ones but I think, aside from the populism nods (majority of Glee noms) they're pretty decent. Hell, Best Actor in a Drama is effing stacked.

Now that I've watched FNL it's shocking both Coach and Mrs. Coach haven't been nominated before because they're spectacular. Might be the best on screen marriage I've seen. More on my FNL thoughts later.

Mike O'Malley for guest star, for sure. He wins easily, for me, anyway.

The one glee nomination I completely agree with (non-guest star, obviously) is Chris Colfer. I'm glad they recognized him as easily the best character and performance on that show.

The Pacific should win credit sequence but FNL should have been nominated.

I also have to agree with this tweet:

Quote:
@TVWithoutPity: insane #TheOffice's worst season got #Emmy nom for Best Comedy, while #Chuck, #Community, and #CougarTown didn't.
Breaking Bad walks with Cinematography or I kill some people.

I'll be lending all my good vibes in support of Foxy, O'Quinn, Mitchell and LOST for victory in their respective catagories.

And this past season of The Office was, hands down, it's most uneven thus far. I was actually surprised to read it landed a nod.

The actors from Lost can eat a dick. They weren't convincing, at all. Their final season was a joke, from start to end.

Jon Hamm was ****ing EPIC. His performance was head and shoulders above Matthew Fox, who basically played the same character for six seasons, outside a few lines (that weren't even convincing, IMO).

As for Supporting Actor, I don't really have a dog in this hunt but I'd take John Slattery. His performance was sublime. Emerson and O'Quinn reiterated the same performances over the past 3 season and didn't bring ANYTHING new.

I saw the Ann-Margaret episode and of course, the Eli Mitchell "Lost". No comparison. Eli Mitchell is predictable and lame, hence her "V" performances.

Ann-Margaret is a legend. The same of which can't be said for Eli Mitchell.

I didn't see the Ann-Margaret episode of the cartoon known as Law & Order: Special Victims Unit. She'd have to be awfully good to win over Elizabeth Mitchell in the Lost finale. Legend doesn't have anything to do with anything. Elizabeth Mitchell and Josh Holloway were so good that I actually stopped hating the flash-sideways during the scene where they reunited at the vending machine.

I agree that Lost's sixth season was a series-damaging joke, but that doesn't diminish some of the performances. Fox was actually good, for once. So good that I am not upset that he got nominated. He sold that conversion from Man of Science to Man of Faith and it seemed to spark something in his performance. I must disagree, strongly - like to the point of cursing -, with you about Emerson and O'Quinn. They both brought plenty new to their characters. Emerson portrayed Ben Linus as more humble on the island and more protective/fatherly in the flash-sideways, while O'Quinn was an entirely different character than in years previous.

I think Brian Cranston should win for the third straight year; his performance is an all-time great one. That said, if Jon Hamm submits the episode "The Gypsy and the Hobo" than he has a shot of upsetting Cranston. I'd like to see Hamm win it one year; he's been very good this whole time.
