Sights, Sounds and Thoughts from Monday Night Football

What a kick-ass night.

This is what everyone was waiting for, and the organization didn't disappoint. And to win with less than 200 yards of offense was just icing on the cake.

Joe and Kathy outdid themselves again, thanks SO much for having us. And it was great to hang with old friends and meet new ones. I honestly haven't laughed that much in a long time. Hope you out-of-towners had a great time.

For those of you that say, "this is just a message board," you've never been to a CP function. I've made some life-long friends because of this football team and this website. And to see the looks on the faces of the guys that had never visited Arrowhead before was something I'll never forget. Arrowhead was everything we have told them it would be.

Regarding the game, I'm not going to say anything negative, other than what anyone with half a brain already knows:

This team will not win many more games depending on a defense to be on the field for 40 minutes or for the special teams to score weekly.

Less than 200 yards of offense is unacceptable.

To the positives:

The blocking for Arenas and McCluster was outstanding. Hell, all McCluster had to do is put a slight move on Mike Tolbert - a FB - and no one else was anywhere close. Arenas did a hell of a job after contact. Shame that Studebaker spaced out on one of JA's returns, or he would have gone to the house as well.

Offensive line was good enough to win most weeks. Liked the nastiness they played with.

Best overall DL performance we've seen in quite some time. Even Tyson Jackson looked decent before leaving due to injury.

Game Ball: Derrick Johnson/Glenn Dorsey

Both had their best all-around games as Chiefs, IMHO.

And the 71K that were there did their part, even the pansy bastards who stood in the concourses because they were too stupid to buy/bring a poncho. Lesson One, peeps. Don't trust the local weatherman. Bring it just in case.

Anyway, without further delay, here are some of my favorite sights and sounds from the weekend:

I knew the weekend was going to be epic when I saw this guy while picking Tiny up at the airport. Sorry it's so blurry, but I didn't want to creep the guy out by asking him to pose.

Some of my favorites from inside Arrowhead:

A few from the tailgate:

And last, but certainly not least - Home of the Chiefs:

Celebration:

I can not wait to see the new Arrowhead in October! Where is the trophy located? Ahhhh, your pictures make me so pumped, even though it's going to be against Jacksonville!

The Lombardi is on display on the field level, in the Hall of Honor.

I believe it's around section 118/119.

WP,

I think your tailgate was maybe 100 yards away from ours. Are you the ones that brought the girl with the red skirt that stopped 8 inches above her knees? If so, thank you. If you happened to walk the opposite direction from the stadium, we were the guys that had 25 lobster tails on disposable grills.

Brilliant planning right there - that's what I get for letting someone else set up the details. The individual tails cost more than the grills we were cooking them on.

Hell of an atmosphere.

Nope, not us.

We were on the Northeast corner of Lot G - around G30.

Missed the girl - though I have to say the "talent" was out in full force.

And yes, the atmosphere was phenomenal. Fun night I won't soon forget.

Yup, that's where I thought that was.

We were just a little bit further up the road. You guys are right next to the dual porto-johns, there was a single that was tucked away between 2 RVs caddy-corner to it that was a solid football throw away from us (my porto-john of choice...)

Well next time, try to bring a short skirt girl of your own with you so you'll be easier to identify.

I did not leave my row at any point during the game. My $500 digital camera got ruined, but I have insurance. I couldn't believe how many people scampered out when it started sprinkling. So embarrassing. It was amazing how loud the crowd was even though the stadium was only half full. I guess all the people that are scared of the raindrops are probably too scared to make any noise anyway.

Yes, especially when you couldn't hear him over the crowd noise.

Heh, there weren't a lot of linebackers wearing Cassel jerseys, that's for sure.
