I threw the KC Times (morning) and KC Star (evenings) off a newspaper truck route all during high school. Actually, that was a really fun job, you had to have some athletic ability (had to learn to throw both left and right handed) and hard to have a parental "curfew" when you go to work at 3:30am....

I've had a variety of shitty jobs, but one of the most memorable was the killing floor at a beef packing plant. Also, running the manure scraper in there, sometimes I'd run over a cow and grind it up.

I did telemarketing for three days. I sold ad space on high school sporting posters. Day one was training, day two was live and made one sale, day three made no sales.
I've never really had anything too bad. The worst was probably Wendy's in high school, but that wasn't that bad. Nowhere near "shitty". |

I lived on a farm and shoveled horse crap, threw hay, got up in the winter before school to feed the animals, etc. for nothing, basically. But the worst job I had was Enterprise Rent a Car right outside Washington DC.
I'd go into an office inside a Caddy dealer or Lexus dealer by myself and see 45 reservations all before 9:00 AM and I would have 5 cars. No exaggeration. I would just wait and hope new cars kept being returned. Even when they did they'd be dirty or empty on gas. And all the customers had been lied to by salespeople who told them they get Caddy or Lexus loaners, so they'd be even more pissed when they got a Neon. I'd sit there 5 feet from a bunch of people who were pissed about waiting, and even when they got the car it would be almost empty on gas and a Neon. And after that you'd be expected to sell them insurance. It was a nightmare every day. I would start dreading it Saturday night. |

I've halfway enjoyed most of the jobs I've had.
Grocery sacker: not too bad furniture delivery: see above Furniture Store sales and misc: wouldn't have been so bad if it paid more than $5 an hour data entry: it was boring but the pay was alright college intramural sports referee: it was fun and I stayed in shape and I got to meet a lot of people tanning salon dude: Nice, toned, and tanned booty galore. print center manager: i liked the work, but i hated dealing with customers MRP planner internship: i learned a lot, it was interesting, and pay was good logistics engineer: it pays really well and it is interesting

Enterprise Leasing has a reputation of being an evil, awful company. They're on my boycott list ever since they tried to torpedo the building of the Sprint Center.

Yep. I also worked at an American General office in Pennsylvania where we made small loans to people. Like $1,000 or $3,500. A bunch would go to collection every month. Sometimes we had to go, "chasing" as we called it. I'd drive to some house in rural PA, in the middle of nowhere and knock on some hillbilly's door asking for money. I'd be scared shitless. It was like Winter's Bone type places. There was a couple times I just knocked on the door twice, turned and left and said, "Nobody was home."

No, it's a fancy term for developing supply networks for an extremely large A&D corporation.

Well I could see how you could think that because the company I work for DOES make up some stupid engineering titles for lame jobs.
People that make metrics charts here are called "measurement engineers."

Did some umpiring for kids baseball when I was about 18. You've got coaches that think they are Lou Pinella and parents in the stands that think their 8 year old is the next A-Rod.
