he's on crack
Hosmer is great, but he'll never be Albert Pujols. And I'll be willing to bet Moustakas hits more HR's next year than Hosmer. |

Are you serious? This isn't AA or AAA anymore. Hosmer is the face of this franchise, and he will hit maybe even double the HR's Moose hits next year. Hosmer is that good. Pujols is the high end for sure, but anything is possible with the kid. Moose is looking better, but he's got a long way to go.

you're judging that by one huge slump by Moose?
I love Hosmer as a guy who will put up Sweeney like numbers...a lot of doubles, 25 HR's, high batting average... Moose is the .280 guy who can hit 40 bombs... I'm still waiting for that fatass Butler to develop his double power into HR power like everyone suggested though so who knows. ...and Gordon still has room to grow, I'm just glad he finally produced on the major league level this year. |

Hosmer's definitely played like a .330/30/100 guy the last two months. Will it carry over? We'll see. I'm sure there will be guys in this group of young players that have the typical sophomore slump. Hopefully it's not him.

I hope I'm wrong...
and what's wrong with Sweeney numbers? Before Sweeney got hurt, he was freaking NAILS. In 2000, these were his numbers: 105/29/144 .333/.407/.930 |

If Hosmer can put up healthy Sweeney numbers, he's a flat out stud. The fact he's already doing it at age 21 is ridiculous.
Can he develop to be a 40 HR guy? 40 HR's is a lot now. A WHOLE LOT. This isn't steroid baseball anymore...how many guys are still hitting 40 these days? Shit Matt Kemp is 1 off the triple crown and I think he has 36 over in the NL... Isn't that crazy? How much the juice really effected baseball? |

only 2 guys have 40 HR's this year...and 1 of them was accused of cheating (Bautista)...and since the accusation, he's been stone cold in terms of hitting bombs.

and the other guy? Curtis Granderson.
I'm not saying Hosmer can't hit 40...but I don't think that's the type of hitter he WANTS to be...the best HR hitters in the league this year were probably Bautista (swings for the fence every time), Granderson (ditto), Mike Stanton (ditto), Albert Pujols (complete player), and Josh Hamilton (complete player)... Can Hosmer have a year where he hits 40? I bet he might hit 40 once or twice...but I really think he's more of an extra base hitter rather than a pure HR hitter... If he racks in 100/30/120 seasons with .315-.330 I think we'll all be ok with that. |

Moose certainly looks like a boom or bust type of player. Who knows? Look how long it took Alex Gordon to come around.
