Chiefs live was comical yesterday

Mitch Holtus "I can't believe how the media flip-flops on Matt Cassel. I'll argue with anyone about that Matt can win us a playoff game here. He's a top 15 QB, and might be a top 10."

I wish someone would put the hammer down on Mitch's face.

Definitely a top 10 QB.
When starting your ranking with the worst starting QB in the NFL.

Go ahead and list the QBs better than Cassel:

Brady
Big Ben
Eli
Brees
Rodgers
Maaaybe Stafford

Thats about it, all the rest of the guys have about as many question marks as Cassel. There aren't any other clear cut guys better than him. Mitch is right.

It would be a shorter list to name the guys who are obviously worse than Cassel.

If his primary guy is covered, he goes check down, no matter what. He is content with throwing a five yard pass on third and eight, and he'll do it every single time his primary is covered. He would make a fine backup QB for any NFL team, but he just doesn't have the ingredients to be a championship QB. It's the same old story in KC.
Basically Huard without the charm.

Anybody that says Stafford is "maybe" better than Cassel immediately loses all credibility.

I'm going to give you the benefit of the doubt and assume you're trolling.

So you know that I'm right since you didn't respond but starting throwing out insults.

Stafford has had 1 good year, I agree that a case could be made that he is better that's why I included him.

AFC QB's better than Cassel (IMHO):
Phyllis Rivers
Peyton Manning
Tom Brady
Rapistburger
Flacco
Schaub
Dalton
Sanchez (not by much)
Andrew Luck

So, there's eight guys who are better. So Cassel would be considered at best a middle of the pack guy. You could make an argument that Carson Palmer and Fitzgerald are better too. Palmer split with KC last year, Fitzgerald outplayed Cassel on opening day last year.

What teams do you think would be willing to trade their starting QB for Cassel straight up?

Calling you dumb or calling your mom a whore would be an insult. Saying you lose all credibility is an observation of your comparison ability.

Stafford has always been better but he's been injured. Even before last year most people would've gladly taken a healthy Stafford over Cassel.

But just for you, let's list who I would take over Cassel no questions asked. In no particular order.

Rodgers
Brees
Brady
Stafford
Schaub
E. Manning
P. Manning
Ryan
Rapelessburger
Rivers
Cutler
Newton
Vick
Dalton
Romo (even though he's a choker)

Here's ones I would compare him to.

Moore
Hasselback (just because he's old, he was better than Cassel in his prime)
Flacco
Palmer
Sanchez
Orton
Freeman
Grossman
Bradford

And finally, QB's I wouldn't take over him:

Kolb
Jackson
McCoy
Tebow
Ponder
Gabbert

There you go, middle of the pack, at very best.

Phyllis Rivers (20 ints? Cant even take a knee? No thanks, head case.)
Peyton Manning (Brokedick, IR by week 4)
Tom Brady
Rapistburger
Flacco (maybe but pretty inconsistent and average, plus that mustache is a huge minus)
Schaub (snore, is there a more boring qb? tons of weapons yet alays underwhelms. dont see it.)
Dalton (teams started to figure him out by end of season. HUGE sophmore slump coming)
Sanchez (not by much) (not at all)
Andrew Luck (um, OK)

I'll take that bet.
Tom Brady
Rapistburger
Flacco (maybe but pretty inconsistent and average, plus that mustache is a huge minus) He was in the AFC Championship game last year....duh!
Schaub (snore, is there a more boring qb? tons of weapons yet alays underwhelms. dont see it.) He got hurt last year, we'll see this year.
Dalton (teams started to figure him out by end of season. HUGE sophmore slump coming) I'll take that bet too.
Sanchez (not by much) (not at all) So, you'd rather start Tebow???
Andrew Luck (um, OK)
He's gonna tear it up in Indy.

I'd take Hasselbeck, Flacco, Palmer, Sanchez, Orton, Freeman, Bradford McCoy, and Ponder ahead of Cassel.

Hasselbeck is old, but he's still better.

The other guys are still young and still have some potential to improve.

I might even take Gabbert, who I didn't like coming out, ahead of Cassel.
